So I looked at the % of black vs white dead at my age... it's identical at 6%! Asian... 2%.

The question is, is life worth living if you do?

Honestly, how long do you want to live if you have to deprive yourself of the things you enjoy.

On top of that, all of that "healthy living" one does can be taken out instantly by so many (mainly environmental) factors outside of their control, that it makes even less sense.

Eating meat, especially beef, reduces my lifespan by 10 years? I'm ok with only living to 85 instead of 95 if that's the case.

I would contest that most white males eat meat, so that would be more like living to 75 instead of 85.

I can't name one vegetarian white male that I personally know, let alone vegan.

It absolutely is worth living, even more in fact because you feel much better and have more energy. And really you are just throwing up a fairly random number of years it's possible you could reduce your lifespan by 15 or 20 yrs. You also have to look at what your quality of life will be like as you move into your final years. Will you be constantly in and out of the hospital having cancer treatments or bypass surgeries and bed ridden?

There is little scientific evidence to suggest this is the case of going "vegan" or being a "vegetarian".

Ever heard of the placebo effect? "I'm eating healthy! I feel great!" is more like "I think I'm eating healthy, therefore I feel that I feel great!"

I know people who have lived to be 85+ and have smoked regularly. I'm not advocating leading an UNHEALTHY lifestyle, but anyone claiming not eating meat is the answer is silly. Like, along the lines of anti-vax silly.

    Edit-
You say I am throwing up random numbers, and I will counter you are throwing up random benefit claims of having the lifestyle you describe.

I've known a few over the last few years but ya it's a small percentage, however there are more and more these days going to vegan. I'm one of them but I can't say i'm 100% vegan just yet as I am in the transitional stage. I have only had meat once in the last 6 weeks and have very little dairy or processed foods. I used to be a meat lover and a cheese O'holic but I honestly don't miss it now.

On the contrary man, there is plenty of scientific research that going to a plant based diet can and will greatly reduce your chances of getting heart disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes etc...
Watch "Forks over Knives" on netflix and do some research it's everywhere.

Going vegan can probably be beneficial to people who understand basic macro/micronutrients and getting the proper vitamins to be healthy. Too bad most vegans think eating a salad for lunch will make them "healthy".

The human species evolved from eating meat, we are not herbivores, our digestive system is designed to break down meat.

It's complete nonsense to think its healthy to consume only plant life.

When you look at the comparison between herbivores and humans, we compare much more closely to herbivores than meat eating animals. Humans are clearly not designed to digest and ingest meat.

    Meat-eaters: have claws

    Herbivores: no claws

    Humans: no claws

Meat-eaters: have no skin pores and perspire through the tongue

    Herbivores: perspire through skin pores

    Humans: perspire through skin pores

Meat-eaters: have sharp front teeth for tearing, with no flat molar teeth for grinding

Herbivores: no sharp front teeth, but flat rear molars for grinding

Humans: no sharp front teeth, but flat rear molars for grinding

Meat-eaters: have intestinal tract that is only 3 times their body length so that rapidly decaying meat can pass through quickly

Herbivores: have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length.

Humans: have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length.

Meat-eaters: have strong hydrochloric acid in stomach to digest meat

Herbivores: have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater

Humans: have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater

Meat-eaters: salivary glands in mouth not needed to pre-digest grains and fruits.

Herbivores: well-developed salivary glands which are necessary to pre-digest grains and fruits

Humans: well-developed salivary glands, which are necessary to pre-digest, grains and fruits

Meat-eaters: have acid saliva with no enzyme ptyalin to pre-digest grains

Herbivores: have alkaline saliva with ptyalin to pre-digest grains

Humans: have alkaline saliva with ptyalin to pre-digest grains
