Current car: 2004 GMC 2500HD, 8.1L gas. Pros: $10k to buy, reliable, tons of space. Cons: 17l/100k highway, 24l/100k city. Parking it sucks. Doesn't fit in my garage.
Realistic next car: Ford Maverick XLT. ~$45k, great on fuel, easier to park, can still put my sled in the back, etc.
Unrealistic next car: Used RS7, or used F-Type R with AWD.

    Id like a Genesis GV70.

However I don't want to ever use premium fuel in a DD.

I am hoping that this tax will curb my ridiculous car habits. No one still knows fully the particulars surrounding it and whether it is only on brand new vehicles, or used vehicles also, so a lot remains to be seen.

And you underestimate his ability to sway towards the shakalaka end of the spectrum. Just ask him how long he planned to keep the E400 for, and how long he owned it for.

    Time will tell.

The E400 wasn’t my decision to sell. Besides we ended up with a van 1/2 the price. Not subject to tax.

    I’m talking about my cars.

Does the luxury tax count on leases?

Looks like the bus is a great alternate option nowadays.

Was thinking my next car was going to be the 2023+ Audi RS3 some day.... but, it seems Canadian regulations killed that option.

    Oh fair enough.

@flipstah the bus should never be an option.

That's not anywhere near as bad as I would have thought or as bad as people say. Sell it to me when you're done with it.

I love the idea of that 8.1 litre

I don't love the idea of fuelling it
