    Default Shokunin 4th ST

The cost does not justify the food.
$3 for 2 shitake mushrooms, $4 for 3 shisito peppers, everything else is 1 skewer with a couple pieces of meat on it. For something that is just cooked over charcoal fire, pretty sure you could just do this yourself.

Miso soup for $7? Better be a bowl that feeds 5.

Ramen that doesn't even come with the egg for $14, additional $2 for the egg.
    Butter in your ramen, $2?

3oz butcher cut grass fed beef for $30

I had super high hopes for this place, complete let down. Our bill was ~$65 + tip, barely made a dent in our appetite (2 nikkas, all the grilled items and the duck tataki), went to anejo after, ~$65 as well for 2 3oz chili coconut margaritas and 6 tacos. Stuffed. Value for dollar just isn't there.

    food 1/5
    ambience 4/5
service 5/5 (we were pretty much the only ones there)

Each stick was $2 minimum. Pricey.

They're putting costs of importing Japanese wood or coal to the customer.

I went there and it was great. I was also drunk lol.

Went last Friday evening. I thought the ramen was pretty good, it was shoyu broth that night. It already comes with egg, scallions and nori. We were going to add those items to the ramen but our waitress informed us that it already has them and that those prices are for extra add-ons. The pork in the ramen was good too, thick pieces. We had a ramen and a few of the skewers each and we were pretty stuffed.

    Food 4/5
Ambience 3/5 - music was a bit loud.
Service 5/5 - place was packed and our waitress was awesome.

I was there on Saturday evening. Food was average. We tried all their skewers and it was nothing special. Their Unagi-style rice was the highlight of the evening. After we left for some korean fried chicken :P

    Food 1/4
Ambience 3.5/5 - agree with Xamim, the music was too loud. Everyone at our table pretty much had to shout.
Service 5/5 - our waitress was on point and attentive even thou the place was packed.

The value to dollar was just not there. However, I will go back to try their ramen (after 9pm I believe) and their other Nikkas.

What's an Unagi style rice? Is it similar to an unagidon?

I'm intrigued and want ramen now lol.

I like the atmosphere, but I'll agree that the music was a bit too loud.

I found it ok, i'd sooner eat there then pay 19.00 for a burger and fries.
5 guys and Carl Jrs. I'll pay the extra 4 bucks.

Shit... didn't check back since I replied. But it wasn't Eel, it was Saba but with Nitsume.
