Default Healthy breakfast - Protein bar options?

Looking for suggestions for protein bars that are NOT energy bars to scarf down with a cup of coffee as a quick breakfast option.
So far, the vector Protein seem OK, have 11g protein, 8g sugar, and 170 cal, a couple other vitamins and minerals.

I try to hit some other healthy snacks later in the morning, like fruit and nuts, but need something to grab on the way out the door.

I did this for a few years, not a bar but it's quick, easy, healthy and keeps you pretty full.
1/2 cup oats, 1 cup of boiled water. Let water sit in the oats for a little while until the water is absorbed.. Then stir in a serving of chocolate protein powder and enjoy. Sometimes I'd nuke a banana and add it to the mix too.

Recently been hooked on these. I've bought them from Supplement Kings. Pretty comparable to Quest for Macros except the fiber.

if you want low carb i like quest (PB&J specifically), bup is just not appealing to me, they have an aweful texture, like a super condensed protien shake, really dry and strange.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

    Make your own.

Almond butter, chia seeds, ground flaxseed, ground almonds, ground coconut, whole grain oats and chocolate chips.

One batch usually make ~25 bars, way cheaper than buying Quest bars.

I'd rather have my calories in protein than in fats/carbs.
Protein is the most dense in terms of Calories / gram compared to fat/carb. What do you want!!!!

    No it's not.

Fat is the most dense 9cal/g, then alcohol 7cal/g, then protein and carbs at 4cal/g.

Protein is the most thermogenic requiring roughly 30% of it's energy to digest.

I think I posted my breakfast recipie a while back, but took the time to weigh it out and check the nutrition on it.
I have a dry mix of slivered blanched almonds (30g), roasted pumpkin seeds (20g) and steel cut oats (10g). I mix that into flavoured yogurt (80g)

End up with 14.6g protein, 380 calories, keeps me full for hours and it is tasty as fuck. Probably has a decent dose of fibre and other nutrients too.
Using unsweetened Greek yogurt improves things a bit, but I just don't like it.

Do you cook the oats at the time, or have some in the fridge?

The oats are raw, and not soaked. That's key IMO to making this a slower energy release.

I find these quite delicious, and you can get 18-32 grams of protein and 1-5 grams of sugar depending on which flavor you choose:

Get them at Walmart or Shoppers I believe (the woman buys them, I mooch haha). The dark chocolate coconut taste incredible

    +1

I used to eat quest bars but they get really expensive when you're buying them every week at no discount

Walmart routinely has the pure protein bars on sale and I load up on them.
