Man, I wish I had skillz like that.
Man, I wish I had skillz like that.
I like that you're practicing all of this before I need you to do mine... I'm pretty paranoid about the clutch...
You had best be serious. I drove a supercharged E90 with the DCT and it's one of my favourite cars I've driven.
It will probably come with time... not this season though... too much money going into it this season, I honestly won't be surprised if I hit close to the cost of the kit just in maintenance items... clutch and bearing still need to be done
Awesome man! Whats your HP like with the supercharger?
Gonna strap it to the rollers soon and find out. ESS says """560""" crank horsepower but it's gonna take some supporting mods to actually make that. I'd be happy with 430 at the wheels as is, 100 more whp than stock.
Awesome work!
1994 Mustang - SBF swap in progress
Sweet!
I like neat cars.
What, no burnout vids yet??
But seriously, it sounds great...should be fun!
Can't wait to hear a full throttle vid!
Took my roommate for his first ride in it tonight.
Strapped it to the dyno today and dang, this thing made good power! 115whp bolted on in 10 hours on a Saturday.
Cleaned up the engine bay for once in its life since it'll be at Driven tomorrow. Stop by the Vex booth and say hey!
So in the quest for more power, this thing needs an intercooler. In order to make room for charge pipe I decided to remove the ugly plastic coolant tank and make my own aluminum one from scratch.
Pressure tested to 30psi and no leaks.
Yesterday I finally got the 2.0bar rad cap needed for the BMW's high pressure cooling system. Couple weeks ago I also got my smaller S/C pulley! And it's also been 4000km since I installed the S/C, so time for an oil change on it.
Pulley is 4mm smaller, good for another 1.5psi of boost.
Coolant tank installed, pulley installed, S/C fluid changed.
what a piece of shit. I wouldn't even drive it.

Intercooler has been on a bit of a journey, UPS misread the address as Corner Brook NL. Finally on its way to the RIGHT address and should be here this week. I'd love if I could start fab on it this weekend.
Intercooler arrived on Friday! Had the whole weekend free so buckled down and got 'er done.
Front end torn down and IC mounted.
All fab and welding done! At this point I was tidying up some odds and ends and getting ready to trim the bumper and install it.
When I selected this intercooler I measured about 80 times, but was still pleasantly surprised that it required NO TRIMMING OF THE BUMPER BEAM and was able to keep the bumper grille 100% intact.
And again through the magic of measuring the car before ordering an intercooler, the core width is exactly the width of the grille opening.
Unfortunately even with the center inlet/outlet the foglights still had to go. But now I have ram air through the fog light openings.
Here's a quick vid giving a "tour" of the setup.
