    Default It's a bloody v8, m8

Ok so finally getting around to making a thread for this thing. It's one car I've always kinda wanted to own, but when I got my 540i in May of last year I decided I HAD to get an E39 M5 by any means necessary. Fast forward to October and I pick this up. Owned by a cheap brown guy so if there was ever a list of "Common E39 M5 Problems" this one ticked every box. Mostly just niggling little interior issues and the like. It's a diamond in the rough.

All it had when I got it was some E60 M5 19's and AFE intakes which, now looking them up, retail for like 700USD.

The night I picked it up

That awesome plenum for the ITBs

After owning it for literally three days I removed the stock mufflers

And fabbed up something rad using some Invidia mufflers generously donated from a Subaru.

Nice rumble at idle and cruise. At WOT it sounds like it wants to tear your face off:

In November, serviced my Vanos solenoids and replaced o-rings. To ensure my VANOS is VANOS'ing at its full potential.

Other than that, so far I've just been chipping away at the nickle and dimey issues over the winter. I've even had the chance to drive it a bit this month with the nice weather.

Oh and I have something nice in store for it, come spring.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

    Gorgeous M5!

What kind of wheels are those? They look like they are from a more recent generation M5.

I think a set of post face-lift Euro Hella headlamps will suit your car nicely!

Amazing car! So nice to see three pedals and a shifter...we forget what it's like to have a manual performance car in this age of auto/semi/auto/DSG etc...

Haha I saw you at the Crowfoot Shell yesterday, gassed up at the pump across/behind you.

Such a nice car, the exhaust sounds fantastic

ITB V8's are sick as fuck. I love E39 M5s. Your exhaust sounds amazing, too.

Coolest intake manifold ever on this car. Love the runners.

I just bought a 6-Speed W8 Wagon, watching your video makes me want to straightpipe it.

That sounds cool. Has the kinda VRRRRRRP that a VR6 has but with an obvious 8 cylinder sound.

I'm pretty sure you have to straight pipe your car now. Never knew VW's could sound so good

I put Japanese racing wheels on my big German sedan.

    ¯\_(ツ )_/¯

Teaser pic for now. Ran out of light to take pictures with anything other than a potato.

Also gave the old wheel/tire setup a proper send-off.
