Couple weeks ago I noticed a rubbing noise at WOT in 1st/2nd. Turned out it was the pinion hitting the body!

The culprit, worn out diff bushings. Think hotdog down a hallway.

The solution, polyurethane. I did the front bushing last year when I did the subframe reinforcement, so just rears this time.

Step 1, uhhhhh fuck, drop the pain in the ass one piece exhaust.

Diff out, old bushings out, new bushings in.

And back on the ground and ready for more launches.

Continuing to tighten my rear end.

Replaced the front diff bushing with a solid one made by a member of M5Board. Tossed it in the freezer while I was removing the old bushing, so it would go in smoothly.

How do you think it got loose in the first place?

Snapped some pics on Friday before I splattered the front end with bugs racing at an airstrip on Saturday.

I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious.

Putting together a budget drag setup for the M5. Traded some beer for these MT ET Street slicks on Friday. Bias ply because they're only going to be used at the track anyway. Today I picked up some 16x8 firebird rims (lots of chevies are 5x4.75 which is a blond one away from BMW 5x120).

Weighed them, even though they're lame stock 90s wheels the wheel+tire package is 15lbs lighter than the 19's on each side mostly due to the slick being so light.

Took a little caliper grinding and some spacers but they fit!

I'm going to fog them matte grey like the Weds wheels and slap a roundel in the center.

    Trackday soon.

What top speed in the half mile? Is this limited to 155mph?

My car is unlimited, does about 135-140 mph in the half mile. Should trap around 115 in the quarter at its current power.

    EDIT: Video from the event

Finished my budget drag slick project. Painted to match and roundels slapped in the center.

Had a successful day at the drag strip yesterday. 3800 DA and headwind kept me from getting the 11.90 and 115mph I wanted, but I'll pulley it up in 2018 to make sure that happens.

Otherwise very happy with this outing, best was 12.21@112 but was running consistent mid-low 12s all day. Launches hard for a 2wd boat.

At the end of the day, packed everything up and drove back to Calgary.

Thanks. By the way, at the same event there was a manual CTSV Wagon. It trapped exactly 112mph like my car, but at a 12.60 because he was on street tires. Completely stock though, with a pulley he would probably destroy me.

I saw that on the "Super Happy Fun Times" Facebook page and thought the same thing, would make for a good race.

I was also shocked to see that there was a TT Viper that trapped 169mph???!!!! Holy F! The pair of Challengers running low 10's @ 140 ish was also impressive.

I would have put money on that CTS-V being faster. That's crazy

There was a promod there that skated down the 1/8 and then coasted the rest of the way to a 8.2 quarter. Supposedly runs 260ish mph in the full quarter.

Manual Vs are slow compared to the autos.

Brand new Dynojet and the shop owner needed a test car. Took it out of winter storage during our nice December weather for a couple pulls. 496whp 401ftlbs

Feels like cheating, my goal is still to have it make 500whp on Vex's Dyno Dynamics and squeak into the 11s at the strip.

Some minor changes coming for 2018. Nickle and dimey supporting mods and of course, next size pulley.

Nonetheless even if those numbers are close, that's awesome. Gotta be a damn fun car.
