Default TD ATM #6778 Stole my money

I was making a deposit last night, and while waiting for the ATM to count my cash (as the new ones do, and then spit out any bill over the 50-count limit), it froze on the screen for about 3-4 minutes saying "Verifying your deposit". It then said "Cash deposit unavailable" and then wouldn't let me deposit or withdrawl cash, only checks.

It didn't offer a receipt, and it didn't total the money before it errored out. My balance does not show the deposit either. I've called TD and filed a claim, but they will take 15 business days to complete an investigation and until then I'm out a significant amount of money.

Has anyone had this happen to them before?

Once to me a few years ago. TD sorted it out and all was well.

Hope it wasn't a large sum of money

happened to me once before. Tried to withdraw some money, shorted me $60 from a $300 debit. Called TD, and they sent out someone to audit the machine. like 4 days later, the money was returned to my account.

I refuse to deposit cash in an ATM after I had a problem. The lady at the teller even advised me against it.

It will most likely work out in your favor.

It was about $1400, so I hope it gets sorted quickly.

had it happen once. ATM ran out of cash mid delivery and shorted me about $400.
I had to sign a form declaring I was making a truthful claim and they gave me my money back.
this was TD and I wasn't a customer with them.

    TD ATM

once I tried to withdraw about $400. It spit out the cash, I tried to pull it out, it held onto it like a claw and sucked it back in and shut down lol... When immediately inside the bank and filed a claim and they sorted it out. I'm sure you'll be fine and they'll sort it out. Sucks to wait though. 2 weeks sounds about right.

Has happened to me once as well.

Deposited large amount as well. It literally took 15 business for them to figure it out. I called almost every 2-3 days asking for an update.

Wow sounds like a more common issue than I thought it would be. Luckily hasn't happened to me. What would you do if it happens at night when the bank is shut? Such a pain in the ass.

This almost happened to me one time. Tried to deposit cash using the machine and it kept returning the cash back to me. After the second try I gave up and just went in to see a teller the next day since the bank was closed for the day.

This is exactly what happened to me. The money I was depositing was for rent, and now I have to make that up some other way while they sort out their error.

Trying to get a credit until the deposit is verified. TD is a PITA.

TD Gave me the runaround, I talked with 3 different reps and my local branch today.

They told me to pound sand. I was offered $300 in overdraft protection (which gets offered anyways), and a $100-temporary credit. What a joke. I need to pay some bills. What else do you guys suggest? Would the media care about this situation?

I have had counterfeit billed given to me from ATMs. I walked around the corner to the tellers and asked them WTF after about 5-10 min they handed me 3 replacement $20s and i was off. Scotia Bank ftw.

What? They are telling you to forget about the $1400? I don't understand, this sounds seriously messed up. I'd talk to a manager or something at the branch.

It sounds like he is demanding they give him money before they complete the investigation and they are not going to.

Hmm that would make sense then. I don't think any bank would release the funds until they have satisfied themselves that the incident did in fact occur. Just be patient if that's the case man.
