Nice. Looks like a more rear bias AWD and 9G-Tronics transmission instead of 7.
Now I'm wonder if these changes will come to the Sedan when it get rebadged from C450 to C43 as well.

The AMG Sport line is gone, so 100% sure the name and updates are heading for the sedan as well.

Good move, it should sell well. If I'm looking for the next car, it would be right up there on the list.
Hmm this is interesting. Although having owned the C63, getting this would feel like a downgrade. But would be a good option for our winters. Let's see I guess.
Definitely a downgrade from the C63. It's basically a S5 competitor.

65 = v12
63 = v8
55 = v8 (?)
43 = v6
45 = i4
Makes total sense
You gotta look at it this way:
65 = big baller AMGs. Make it rain.
63 = middle class wanna be baller track fiend AMGs.
55 = no warranty AMGs. (they don't make 55's anymore now that the SLK55 is gone)
45 = my first AMG. Cheeeeeeaaaap!!!
43 = not really an AMG, but we'll call it an AMG anyways, so sounds about right being 2 less than the cheapest real AMG.

I thought they had stopped making 55's, but the MBUSA website still had slk55's on there for some reason.
I understand where they all sit in the grand scheme, im just trying to think of a more ambiguous naming scheme haha
Can't beat BMW in that department.

Yea, I think I will stick my potential future options of either E63 or CLS 63. That is if I don't decide to go on a completely different SUV route.Originally posted by rage2

So how reliable are tunes and upgrades from weisstech or renntech? I see they can make the cla45 put 400 awhp to the ground, should be able to make the c43 pretty peppy as well?
Does mercedes have warranty issues with that kind of stuff?

I've never had any warranty issues even with mods. A fellow beyonder got new cams under warranty on his 63 from the lifter issue and he has a tune as well.
Tune on the C450/C43 bumps power up to 430-450hp depending on tune and fuel.

Heard anything about the cla45? I know its below your amg radar, but squeezing 400whp from a 2 litre seems excessive! Although iv read it has some strong internals.Originally posted by rage2

Yea, about 410hp tuned, 450hp if you also add downpipe and intake.
I own a GLA45, so yea, it's right on my radar haha.

So what was the point of bringing out the AMG Sport Line and C450 for a model year only to change it again? Car companies really have to think things through before rushing this shit to market. Ugh.
edit: spelling

I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with the pressure they got from all the whiners on PL. lol.Originally posted by JustinMCS

It's actually worse than that. 2015 saw the C400 (we reviewed one here: http://www.beyond.ca/review-2015-mer...tic/40872.html )
2016 saw the C450 AMG Sport replace the C400, which upgraded it with 30 more horsepower, revised suspension and AMG 33:67 split AWD to get rid of the understeer, as well as tuning to give it shift and overrun exhaust farts.
2017 carries over all the changes from 2016, switches from 7 speed to 9 speed auto, dials in more rear bias (31:69 now), fitted with bigger brakes from the old C63 AMG, and renamed C43 AMG.
So basically, they've been upgrading the S4/S5/335i fighter every single year, and just going nuts with the naming scheme. The AMG Sport had so much backlash for even using the AMG name from some AMG owners that it makes no difference marketing them as full AMGs, so they discontinued the AMG Sport line after only 1 year. Win-win for Mercedes-AMG. Less confusion, same amount of bitching from the label conscious AMG owners, and more sales numbers for AMG.
