Graduated with a Petroleum Engineering degree 2 years ago, worked as a Field Engineer for 6 months then got hit by the layoff hammer after months of training lol. Now I'm just doing Civil Engineering with the city in roads/traffic via hookup. It's better then nothing though I guess I'm stuck in the civil route for good.

This thread has made me really sad. Apparently 57% of Beyond are engineers... That is unless some dishonest techs said they were engineers too!

I honestly thought it would be a higher %. I feel like 90% of the people I know in Calgary are Engineers.

That's because of the title. It didn't ask what your occupation is. It asked what type of engineer you are. It just shows you the amount of people nosing around where they don't belong.

Mining Engineer. Work at a mine. Go figure.

Basically my job involves knowing enough about civil, mechanical and geotechnical engineering to tell them when they're wrong and then going out in the field and getting it done.
