You're literally asking the radio waves to do something different on the top floor vs basement. Choose your poison, either single AP to cover everything and live with the drawbacks, or have one AP per floor.

Now that I've played with roaming behaviour on the UniFi, it's exactly as intended and works like every other site with proper roaming setup. Bonus is my exact level settings seems to work perfectly, maintaining the same transition/roam points. I didn't touch the RSSI method at all. For reference, I'm running a paltry 17dbm on the 5ghz radios.

I have a spare BNIB AC-Lite. Stopid 5 packs. Will let it go cheap if you choose the latter. There's my sales pitch haha.

That's my exact setup. I have 2 per floor with 1 in the basement centrally. Each one covers an active area of the house.
I have a spare Ethernet port in a gang box on the wall upstairs, so I'll probably opt for the in-wall AP. If that changes, I'll follow up to see if your AP is still available, thanks. Are you using a custom power setting for 2.4 channel?

Yes, but that's all over the map because 2.4 interference is a huge problem here. I even have to resort to using the narrowest channel width possible to minimize full blackouts.

To answer my own question - Costco does accept returns of greater than 90 days on wifi routers.

    How much for the AC-Lite?

This shit in high demand or something? I literally just sold it for $80 over PM. If I had known it was that popular, I would've settled for $40.

I really have no leg to stand on considering I jumped on a sold out gateway for my home that could probably handle my entire companies networking needs haha

Flipped the switch tonight. Mostly uneventful. A couple more entries in my DHCP tables for all the guests that now sit directly on my network and not behind a NAT. About 10 devices had to be reconfigured because it apparently attaches not only to SSID but to MAC as well. Finger crossed WFH doesn’t break tomorrow haha.

Prettied up all the clients in the interface with Aliases and icons. Disappointed no icons for my Anova or crock pot. I have way the fuck too many devices on WiFi.

Haha the alias icons is such a guilty pleasure

If you set up the AR on the new switches you can see little icons of what is hooked up where.

I too know the pains of too many wifi clients. This number get up into the 40s when all the devices are powered up. I run 3 FlexHD’s all running at low power with a 70db cutoff now and I don’t have any issues anymore. I did have issues with a few Apple devices and the password errors but those went away with the last few betas so I have been happy.

I made the mistake of looking at all my wifi clients. Fucking hell, the wife has been going nuts with the cheapie smart switches. We have to have like 40 clients, and I can only identify about 12 of them.

I have ~31 wireless clients, and 8 wired. I too would have jumped on the AC-Lite.

After cleaning things up and wiring things that could be wired, I'm down to 36 wireless and 52 wired.

Less than I thought, I'm 5 wired clients, and 21 wireless. Although, there's a few older tablets and phones that we use for specific things that are powered off.

I’m 7 wired and 18 wireless. But a lot of my tech stuff has yet to be unpacked and I haven’t wired all my Sonos stuff which is my preference.

UDM Pro is still in stock, for anyone that wants it.

I've setup a distill.io check for the flex mini and the G4 Pro camera.
