Perfect, you just tucked it along the siding and stuff to where you need it? Obviously I'd be using outdoor rated cable. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I buried it. Just used standard cable since it's buried and won't see UV haha. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
We'll see if it gets dug up and chewed up by animals. Heard wiring is tasty.

So, it looks like there may be some fixes for the USW and UAP people with DHCP Issues, not a complete fix, but still nice.
Im still having issues with my UAP-AC-PRO and the 2.4ghz Transmit Rate (Tx Retry/Dropped 91.7% / 0.0% on FW: 4.3.13.11253 )
Another recent issue with their switches, is the new USW-Flex doesnt use LLDP so it cant negotate to receive PoE power above 15w, which means its useless unless you use an injector.
Code:UAP/USW Firmware 4.3.17.11279 Bugfixes [USW] Fix DHCP flooding between isolated ports. [USW] Fix DHCP packet inter-VLAN route loop by DHCP snooping. Improvements [UAP-G2] Improve Wireless Uplink stability on downlink. [UAP-G2] Increase authenticator log level, if debug logging is enabled. [USW] Improved server option checking of DHCP snooping. [USW] Align the Port ID info in LLDP.

Wonder if that broadcast storm was actually DHCP flooding. I never wiresharked it, just saw the broadcasts. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Funny that only the new adopters (me and GTS Jeff) saw it, and that the problem goes away by starting at an old firmware and upgrading back up lol. Just good to know I'm not on crack.
edit - just an RC, not stable yet.
edit 2 - reading the comments at the community, it doesn't fix the DHCP problem, and for some people, broadcast is completely broken so DHCP as well.

I wonder if I haven’t seen this because I have been on beta firmware since day 1. I am on 5.18, however that is the new hardware. I switched the the beta firmware back in November or December because it had a fix for the iOS wrong password garbage. I haven’t ever gotten on beta since then.
Edit: checked some of the previous gen hardware and it’s on 4.4.51.5287926

Looks like Unifi has 2 Wifi 6 AP's in EA now. Essentially a minor upgrade to the AC Lite and IW HD with Wifi 6 support. The Unifi 6 Lite is super cheap, 100 USD on the EA store though sold out.
6 Lite is only 2X2 MIMO though so don't expect any speed increases from it, but the IW-6 is 4x4 MIMO.
Will be getting the 4x4 MIMO 6 dome styles ( essentially whatever the Nano HD Wifi 6's end up being ) whenever they come out of EA, but encouraging to see they are out in the wild being tested at least.

I will implement unifi WiFi 6 APs on my network once WiFi 7 devices start coming out since some of the benefits require all devices in range of the AP to also be WiFi 6.
WiFi 6E is nice though with the 6Ghz spectrum.
On a side note, funny how they switched to the number system to simplify wifi naming, and they've already fucked it up by introducing 6E.

6 Lite will still do 1.2gbps on 5ghz, so a bit of an improvement. My timing of upgrading to unifi was perfect. Fuck sake haha. Guess I'll just skip this and wait till the new spectrum APs come out. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I've got my UDM Pro up and running. What's the word on Migration? backup file or start from scratch?
My Controller version is 5.13.29
UDM Pro is showing version 5.13.30
Did a manual check on both and both showing as latest version.

As long as your old controller isn’t newer than the UDM you will be fine. I did it with a backup file, took a little bit but worked well.

Yes that's what I did. Took the latest back up from the old controller and then restored it on the UDM .This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Are you guys taking advantage of the SFP ports to connect the UDM to your switches? Fiber seems like overkill for a 10cm run.

My ONT is still 40 feet away from my UDM. Trying to figure that out. I’ve only got ~4 feet of excess fibre spooled up and having found many good answers as you how to patch the fibre over to my rack. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I would really like to figure out how to get that fibre over so I can keep my entire network on a UPS so I don’t lose any downtime during power bumps.
Kind of defeats the purpose of my WAN isn’t on the UPS.

Looks like I need this thing. https://store.ui.com/collections/uni...ac-patch-cable
Canada store doesn't have it and Canadian retailers are gouging... $16USD != $50CAD even with shipping and tax.

How are you guys connecting to ONT? Assuming that you have Optik TV setup.
I tried to convince Telus to open up another port on the ONT and no luck so far.
I feel like these aren’t proprietary cables. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That said, yes one end of SFP+ goes into the UDM. Where are you plugging the other end into?

Interesting. I guess I will call again and see if they are going to allow me to do that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So far the answer I got was unless it is a multi dwelling setup they will not allow that.
USW-16-POE Gen2This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
which I have now discovered is SFP, not SFP+.
