Thought I'd bump this, apparently the new UniFi Controller firmware is crazy buggy and brings back the broadcast storm problems that @rage2 was having.

Youre talking about the cloud key setup? (and not the java based, Windows software that also acts as a controller)

Two aspects to cloud key or UDM, Firmware in device itself. And controller software which is the same no matter where it’s hosted.

I presume it’s the controller software that is causing issues he mentioned.

That said, can’t say I have noticed anything.

Yup, controller software. Here's a link, also seen a couple of Youtube videos pop up on my feed that say the same thing as well.

Ran into an issue last week where I couldn't login locally (I am pretty sure I had the right login info) so I used the same login via the web view and then had to create a second admin to access locally. Anyone else run into this?

Looks like 6.0.22 was released to try and address that.

Any reason you guys upgrade to the latest version right away?

Need to handle your networks like Ron Popeil would.

That pop up gets annoying lol.

Strange that this is triggered by the controller though. I haven't upgraded. Controller software should be easy to downgrade no?

I don't unless there's something essential in the new firmware, or if something broke.

Because I hate myself. And a coworker mentioned it to me, so my only thought was "new toy!" Once I figure out which tag to use, I'll likely downgrade.

The new controller software is dog shit. I normally average under 10 in both anomalies and association failures a week. This is just from today. Yikes

My association failures calmed down, but I'm still seeing a ton of High Wifi Latency issues.

I've been doing this for years, without issues. UNIFI updates were not like Windows Server updates in that they needed to be vetted prior to implementation (ie. whats it going to break?).

Yea this is bizarre, I am seeing it with my clients now as well. Im moving one client away from UNIFI completely.

Its almost to the point that UNIFI is fucking things up deliberately - or having something forced upon them thats causing this.

In no reality should 3-6 months of constant headaches be the norm.

Up front hassle versus every day hassle.

    Pick which one you prefer.

Just a quick update - was able to get my client and their ~35 WIFI devices more or less operational again.

From a UNIFI forum user recommendation - I cranked up the power from CUSTOM (18 db) to HIGH and disabled RSSI completely (although I think it defaults to -90 db).

Suddenly things started connecting and staying stable.

I've used the POWER and RSSI settings in custom (adjusted) mode for years - so obviously there is something strange there with the updates that broke it.

    Not ideal, but works now.

In a home environment this would worry me. I have 3 APs and in reality 1 can cover my whole house (but I would have areas of poor reception) so I run low power on 2ghz and medium of 5ghz. Previous to this “software update” I was able to have near perfect hand offs and distribution of clients on each AP (14-12-15) with an RSSI of -75db. Cranking up the power would probably help the association issues but I imagine it would impact my handoff as well as have me fighting my own APs for interference. However my understanding is rudimentary at best so if I’m incorrect please chime in, I would love to fix this.
