    Interesting. I guess I will call again and see if they are going to allow me to do that.
    So far the answer I got was unless it is a multi dwelling setup they will not allow that.
    How are you currently setup? The way u have it done is essentially Telus’s out of the box recommendation. Literally nothing fancy and the “bridge mode” is user configurable on the router.

    which I have now discovered is SFP, not SFP+.
    Ohhhh got it. For some reason I thought you were trying to use SFP to connect to Telus, which is doable but more complicated.

    Current Setup is ONT -> Telus Router -> UDM Pro
    Couple ports on the Telus Router is hardwired to the Optik TV boxes.

    Isn’t that exactly the same as what I said?

    Lol. Yes. I was under the impression people are connecting directly to ONT.
    The set up I am referring to is ,
    ONT Port 1 -> Telus Router -> Optik TV
    ONT Port 2 -> UniFi network Or any gateway

    Sounds like in general Telus doesn’t play ball with multiple ONT ports.

    There are ways to bypass the Telus router and use the UDM Pro to handle optik but it’s not straightforward.

    Even more hardcore is skip the ont, and plug Telus fibre into the SFP port on the UDM. But again, more complication.

    I used a DAC cable between my udm pro and my Gen2 switch. I just ordered one from Ebay. Some vendors have a "unifi" specific one, which I bought.

    You need to set your UDM Pro to SFP / 1gig uplink manually, though. For some reason it doesn't auto-negotiate down to SFP (non plus). Or get the Pro switch which is SFP plus.

    When Telus finally finishes their install in the community, I plan to run the fibre straight to my UDM pro, no ONT. I don't plan on getting Optik I dont think. You need to use the GPON SFP they use though, can't use your own SFP.

    I went with a switch in between.

    ONT-> switch

    -> my router -> 24 port switch

    -> Telus router
    -> LAN 1 (unused, not in bridge mode could use for another network)
    -> LAN 2 - PVR
    -> LAN 3 - SMB TV box

    I haven't had time to clean things up and my old UPS died (older unit, new battery :/ ):

    Is it really a switch if you can’t see what devices are plugged in where with augmented reality?

    my 10gtek SFP DAC cable between my switch and my UDM Pro just stopped working randomly. I wonder if it died, or if its a software thing with the udm.

    Shoulda bought the ubiquiti one, I guess.

    Interesting... Have you tried forcibly setting speed on the cable?

    well, I set the port on the UDM pro to be 1gig not 10 gig (SFP vs SFP+), so I guess so?

    It just randomly stopped in the middle of a netflix show. I think it might just have died.

    Is anyone running a HDnano access point, and what kinds of speeds are you seeing.

    Setup a test rig today, with mostly default setting, on 5GHz, with a VHT channel width of 40, I was only getting 200 MB/s using a Samsung s10, via the ookla speed test app. When I check the wifi settings, it registers as a 300MB connection.

    To my Asus 68u, my 5Ghz wand gives me a 420 MB connection estimation, so I must be missing something.

    Give it some time to negotiate a higher speed.

    My S20 Ultra was getting the same results as you at 220mbps down...

    I tested with my 8 year old Lenovo Carbon X1 and got the following. My testing isn't the best as I have downloads going, and I don't know which of my nanoHDs I'm connected to ATM (1 goes through a couple switches first cuz of distance)...

    EDIT: I think I'm using the same channel width as you are.

    I average around 450mbps on mine, peaks around 500mbps on iPhone XR and Telus fibre.
