Undoubtedly cool, I agree. I recently went through plumbing selections and the upgrades added up so quickly. I sprung for the steam generator.

I have a great glass guy, he did all the glasswork in my place, rail and black glass fireplaces.
I don't know about steam.Originally posted by phreezee

I may turn the basement bathroom in this house into a full on spa, with a jetted tub and a steam shower.....when I do the basement. Come in from the lake, have a quick jet and steam. Sounds nice.
Not sure I need it in the mah-ballz-need-a-scrubbin' shower off the bedroom.
So did you manage to get your induction top to be mounted flush with the surface? I gave up on mine and just had it mounted on top so it is raised. It would've been sweet to have it flush, cleaning would be a breeze.Originally posted by JordanLotoski

Mrs. Buster today informed me that she will not, under any circumstances, be without a jetted tub.
I hate jetted tubs.
Off to google!
Found out that there is an entire category of "bubble" tubs, which don't use nasty jetted water, but rather air jets with bubbles. The air is even heated, as is the backrest. More importantly, you can get the freestanding. And they aren't as loud.
This is the leading candidate right now:

IT'S HAPPENING.
Paging Heavyfuel.
Needed to see what the plumbing behind this weird corner looked like.
Next up is the plumber to do the polyb repipe.
Once the walls are open for that, I might take advantage and run some data lines. Same with some speaker wire. Should also be easier with access to the subfloors throughout the upstairs.
Run 2x data lines to anywhere that might have a desktop or TV.

Ya. I plan cat5e everywhere. It's cheap
Run cat6 or better yet, CAT6A

All my reading indicates that Cat6 is no benefit over Cat5e. They have similar performance in a home. Cat6 almost seems like a competitor to the Cat5e protocol rather than an improvement.Originally posted by benyl

Cat6a is much, much harder to run, and terminate, with questionable benefits to a home user.
I'm no expert, that's just what I've read.
I'm trying to decide if I want to keep/paint the kids built-in. Or remove it and put a simple desk in there with a wall mounted cabinet.
It's more of a future proofing thing... I know there is some products on the commercial side that are either 2x cat5 or 1x cat6Originally posted by Buster

I seem to recall that cat6 was better for longer distances... That ring a bell for anyone else?

%100 agree. If your going to run cable, may as well run cat6. it is far superior, you can tell that just by looking at it.Originally posted by benyl
