I have to say I'm so incredibly impressed with both lenses. The Sigma rendering is stunning and the dock works quite well.

The Nikon's manual focus is leaps and bounds better than my 16-35, I'm talking fairly close to Voigt- and Zeiss-like tactile feel. Still overall feels like a toy because of the extremely light weight (a plus actually) and the image quality is impressive, very excited to get out and try some astro work with this.

Eric, looks like everyone is very excited to see the little one!

Here's an old re-edit of Lake Minnewanka from Cascade summit, a day that was incredibly(!) hazy from the forest fires. I tried the dehaze function in LR and mostly seemed to just push the saturation and exposure way up, but with some tweaking I got it to an acceptable level that wasn't HDR eye-ripping. Would love another crack at taking this shot on a better day.

I got a new lens last week too, wide angle for my Pentax.

Did some tests, still can't get over how much detail this combo pulls out.

So..... Today McBain diagnosed my T5. I guess its not my 1.4 50mm or cpl... the autofocus is out of calibration. Only really notice it wide open to about f3 at a distance you would take a picture of a car at. All the focus is on the bottom in that situation. I doubt it'll be worth fixing.

Didn't want me upgrade right now, but minus well. So looking at 7d or 6d.
Also, no idea why flickr won't show my picture settings.

Windy day at nose hill

Edit:photobucket is killing my resolution, I should really get a flickr account

I tried out some hdr settings for the second picture, but I am wondering if I shouldn't have used longer exposure time instead, Any thoughts or tips?Working with my dog can make it a bit challenging but I'm having fun trying different settings with nose hill, even if the picture isn't 100% the background makes up for it

Really liking the 6d so far! Can't wait to get more practice with it and eventually good glass.

Also inherited this D150. Its in really good shape, but I just don't think I have room or time for it. I am starting to fall for it and its means a lot to my mom and grandma. Hopefully a friend can give it a good home.
