it seems to be like a polarising effect on glasses, reduced glare, gives more contrast, not sure if its critical but the video looks a lot nicer. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I also bought this dashcam two months ago. Been happy with it so far. At first I didn't order the CPL filter and the glare from my dash was pretty bad. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Here's 2 images, First has the filter ON, second is the filter OFF
You can see the filter actually helps a lot at night, reduces a lot of glare and gives added contrast

I picked up the version without GPS for $108 when you posted it on RFDThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Very happy with it so far, the only thing is the cigarette lighter adapter is a bit finicky, so it popped out a couple times until I rotated it 90° which seems to be holding firmly.

Pulled the trigger on 2 G1W-S. Figured I would try it out as all the review sites say its the best bang for buck.
I have been thinking about getting the G1W-S for the wife's car but it looks so big.. Looks like it would stick out. The last thing I want is for someone to break into my car for a 80$ camera
Is there anyway to conceal it?

It's actually not. Exact same form factor was the other G1W series
thats why i went with the a119s, its very low profile and doesnt stand out at all. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I have the G1W-C (capacitor battery instead of traditional). Been working for past 4 years strong, no issues at all. Been using a Adata 32GB card on it. For $49, its performed awesome for the price. But I'll be upgrading to a Blacksys CH200B soon. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
Did you find that if you didn't start the camera after a couple days that it would lose the date setting? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Seems to be the biggest complaint that people have with capacitor cameras. I'm coming from an old school DVR207 so I never had this issue
Yeah I've heard of that but it hasn't happened to me yet as I drive everyday to work and weekends go grab groceries. If it does lose the date, its not a biggie, put it back in. Like 1 min of your time. But otherwise, $49 for 1080P recording. Good deal. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
