Default Recommend me a cleaning/maid service

Bought a new place, held onto the last one as a rental, which I'm vaguely regretting at this point, but it's too late to back out.

Can anyone recommend a maid or cleaning service that does a "move out" cleaning? Old place is empty, just needs a good cleaning before I list it to rent.

    Townhouse, ~1000sqft + developed basement.

Any maid service will do this type of work.
Three North Clean is who I have used most recently.
Neat Freak is slightly more expensive, but possibly more thorough.

I used Naturally Clean in 2013 for a move-out clean, was very satisfied.

    I recently used Ideal Maids.

I'm torn on how I feel. On the phone I said that I wanted it cleaned top to bottom.

I wasn't worried about how many hours it would take, as I needed it done. I just wanted it done right. They assured me 5 man hours was enough

They did a really good job on a few things like the bathrooms, fridge, oven, but they overlooked a few things like the blinds, windows, and walls. My wife had to go back that night and redo the floors as the mop job wasn't the greatest, and the new owners got the house the next day.

Maybe I should of been more clear on what exactly I wanted, but it was my first time using a cleaner. Probably an industry of you get what you pay for as they were $40/hour.

If you do use them, I would just make sure you are very specific on what needs to be done.

I have used Maids in Blue for the last 3 cleans and they have been excellent. The owner Ray is also a Beyonder and is fast to reply.

I know a few people now who have paid for "top to bottom" cleans (usually pre or post rental property), and things like the following were omitted:

    - Tops of appliances
    - Tops of cupboards
    - Underneath easily movable appliances & furniture
    - Blinds
    - Lighting fixtures
    - Bathroom vent fans
    - Tile grout/backsplashes
    - Walls (this one is tricky though because it's really easy to mess up the paint)
    - Baseboards & baseboard heaters
    - Ceiling fans (dusting the blades)
    - Windows that weren't super easy to access

Cost was not an issue, job was charged by the hour, the people were just lazy. Has anyone used a maid service that *actually* does a proper top to bottom clean? A big reason you're paying them is because you want more than a swiffer dust, quick vacuum and bathroom scrub.

I used Servpro when I did my last move-out cleaning and they sent 4 girls over to clean. Took them 3 hours even though the place didn't seem that dirty. They cleaned everything including inside/outside/top of all appliances, light fixtures, top of both ceiling fans including one really difficult to reach one. There wasn't a surface that had any dust/dirt on it when they left.

They sent a different crew of 2 guys to clean the windows and screens (20 feet up).

I'll definitely use them again when I need to.

Little bit of a bump here, has anyone tried Three North or Maids in Blue? We've used Neatfreak a couple of times and it was okay, but expensive. I'm really looking for someone bi-weekly long term.

Curious to know as well. Used neatfreaks the last couple times but seems too expensive.

We've been using sweet home maid for the last couple years now and have been really happy with them. They charge $25.00 an hour and include all the supplies. Krista is the owner and scheduler 403-991-4082. Super nice lady and the staff are friendly. Not sure if it makes a difference but theyre all Filipino and very trust worthy. Before these guys we tried a couple companies and some of the cleaners that were sent looked pretty sketchy.

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

I have been using AspenClean on a trial basis ( never had a cleaner and personally I don't like the idea of people being in my house ) for the last month and they have been pretty good. Have them coming every couple weeks. I picked them as an alternative to NeatFreak after the recommendations for them seemed to fall apart on here, I liked the concept of NeatFreak though so that's kindof what I was looking for. Bonded insured properly trained, use natural products

Not sure if it makes a difference but the cleaners were all white and very friendly. Wife sat in for the first clean and there were no alarm bells. They are also big on natural and eco friendly cleaning products, so your home doesn't smell like a chemical dump after a deep clean which is nice.

As for trustworthiness in my experience with these kinds of service jobs, you pay for it with tips.

They are a bit on the expensive side though so not for everyone. Send a team of 3 people in and are in and out pretty quickly so minimal interruption to your day if you happen to be home.

Not sure if I am going to continue ( mostly because I don't think I can justify a cleaner period ) or if they are worth the money but they do seem like a good service. I imagine you get what you pay for in this industry.

I have a cleaner and she charges extra to do all of these except cleaning the backsplash in the kitchen. I actually asked about inside windows and the reply was $10 per window. So it would of been about $400 extra.

How much does everyone pay for their cleaning service?

I have a 2000 sq ft house (2 story) no basement done and it costs me $185. The one lady typically comes for 3 - 4 hours.

Our cleaner is about $45 - 50 an hour depending on how long she stays. She used to come (2 years ago) about 7 hours of the day and that was a better deal but I think shes become complacent.

Absolutely but only because they really earn it. They send 2 cleaners and they stay for 2 hours total so on a $100 bill we tip $20. My house is only 2000sq/ft though and they get it done in that time no problem.

If you mean thats pretty cheap then yes i agree because ive used a couple companies before and paid more than that. I only stumbled on these guys because i needed a move out clean on my rental and went the cheap dirty route through kijiji lol Figured there was nothing to steal so there wasnt much to go wrong other than a shitty clean.

I really have no affiliation with this company but im really happy with them and would vouch for them easily. Sounds cheesy to say but try them once and you'll be vouching for them too.
