That guy either has shit for brains or balls of steel. Spending that much time in the store with a police station literally 30 seconds away is crazy. Was there no alarm?

^ That's my question too.
Was there not an alarm sounding? he was pretty casual in there.
Well we know he's white, thanks for the butcrack lol
Sounds like one staff member was in there - so no alarmsOriginally posted by B16EJ8

The news stated a manager was in the back room at the time and didn't hear the smash, so I would assume the alarm was turned off by him/ her. I think someone may be in heat after this with Cabela's.
That looked way too easy. I mean sure it takes balls to do this so close to CPS, but it was a smash and grab. Why don't they have impact resistant plexiglass cases and a non glass entry door?!

Maybe an inside job?
I was thinking it looked too easy as well. If you have been in Cabela's, the gun room is quite segregated from everywhere else. It wouldn't of been very difficult for them to install another secondary security door/gate that leads into the gun area. Guess that's what you get for hiring Chando's and blowing your budget
Hell yeah now that theyre saying the reason there was no alarm is because of an employee being inside. Even if the manager wasnt involved another employee could've tipped this guy off to let him know the alarm would be off. This guy was really relaxed for the scenario imo.Originally posted by Mixalot27

Wow, he had all the time in the world. Seems shady to me. For a place with a lot of firearms I am surprised there isn't better security
GO FLAMES GO!
Wow, how isn't the firearm room more secure? That is awful.
Just seems too perfect that the alarm wasnt on with a dude inside that heard nothing. The guns are in the very back corner of the store too... not like a quick smash and grab.
I MAKE BALLER CARS MORE BALLER.....
Wasnt the firearm room, just guns off the shelf and cases. The liberals want us all to store our guns in mass lockup facilities as well... just see stuff like this happening..Originally posted by vengie

The video posted was of their gun room where they keep higher value guns and stuff on consignment. They really should have better security when dealing with firearms. I've always been amazed that these places keep ammo out in the open as well. Wouldn't be too hard for this guy to walk out with several thousand rounds of ammo to go with his guns.Originally posted by civic_stylez

I mean, there are separate doors to enter said area, there are guns everywhere... Looks like a firearm room to meOriginally posted by civic_stylez

I didn't say vault.
Regardless, the point stands. How is the area not more secure than that.
I liked it when he went to have a quick look at the pistols, then was like "oh shit those look pretty good I definitely want some of those too", runs back for the crowbar, and grabs a few haha.
I think it's 2 angles so it's only 3 minutes of footage, which doesn't seem that long, despite him being fairly casual. Wouldn't be surprised if it was an inside job though.
Short of putting everything in a vault at the end of the day, if the criminals want them they are probably going to get them if they are willing to use brute force like that.
I stand corrected.. article I read earlier explained it differently.Originally posted by lamp_shade_2000

This guy definitely had inside info, he showed up with nothing but a crowbar at a time when a manager was there with the alarm off. At one point or another he had a conversation with someone that works there "Dude it'd be so easy, the manger sits in his room and can't hear shit, the alarm will be off, all you'll need is a fuckin' crowbar"

Damn, that must be the room all the way to the left side of the store when you walk into Cabela's.
I was there several months ago with my dad and commented on how some of the guns were listed for like 10g's and were just sitting in a glass cabinet.
