Default Anyone have a home energy audit done?

I am looking to do a short interview with someone who has had a home energy audit done, for a course I am currently taking "Energy audits and conservation practices"

Some of the questions I am looking to answer:
    1. Who or what organization/company did your home energy audit?
    2. What motivated you to have a home energy audit done?
    3. Describe the process you followed to have a home energy audit conducted.
    4. How long did the energy audit take?
    5. What tests did the energy auditor use to assess your home?
    6. From your point of view, what were the best parts of the home energy audit?
    7. Can you see any flaws or limitations with the energy audit done on your home?
    8. What would these recommended renovations cost?

I would also like to see a copy of the home energy audit, if possible. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it!

I had a friend do it years ago.

The conclusions are always the same.

#1 put insulation in the attic.
    #2 new furnace.
#3 everything else you do will do very little to save energy.

I had this assessment done when there was still the home energy credits available.

    (1) If I remember correctly it was ATCO that came to do it.
    (2) I was going to renovate anyways, and wanted to maximize any potential deductions and operating costs.
    (3) Called up the number, got the time scheduled for the inspector to come. Few weeks later got a package in the mail along with the info from the government as to what is covered and what isn't.
    (4) If I remember correctly, the whole thing was done within 2 hours time.
    (5) Visual tests, FLIR camera was used as well. If I remember correctly there was an "air seal" test to see how "sealed" the home was.
    (6) Just confirmed what I thought had to be fixed/upgraded as part of the renos. And also allowed me to get qualified for credits.
    (7) There are some things that can't be tackled without doing the inspection during the build process.
    (8) For me, the most expensive mechanical upgrades/update were already done (high efficiency furnace + triple pane low-e windows). So it was down to doors, insulation in the attic, using rubber air-seal gaskets for wall-plates etc. I chose to upgrade my entire's house' lighting to LED's during the renos, so that cut down on electricity costs quite a bit. I had R12 in the attic, and got that brought up to R50, replaced the doors to cut down any potential air leaks as well, but all those things I did were part of the renos anyways.

    Yep!

Also if your house is old... add an aluminum storm door.
    Replace windows.

But FYI, keep your old furnace. Way better in the end. Repairs are easy and cheap.
