If the doors/trunks/hoods are not open, you won't get marks for those categories. Since you have no idea when judges come by, or in some cases multiple judges, owners literally have to leave all that shit open for the entire duration of the show. Mod list signs, again, it's there for the judges. You're not going to get recognized for a custom built block with high compression pistons without a mod list. So for any vehicle that's looking to seriously compete for an award, it sucks for you.

Oh I totally get why they do it... It's my pet peeve for selfish reasons

Mod lists and having things open don't make for great full car pictures, but its necessary. Car shows aren't great for pictures other than details. Owners want to show off aspects of their cars and spectators want to view the details that make the car special.

So many tuner shows I've been to where half the cars have the hoods closed.

Another thing I dislike is ropes/dividers... I did like the display of the 350 where you had a clear divider, but it didn't wreck viewing/pictures of the car.

Nopulp and Jason, thanks for the great pics.

I hadn't been to a driven show in many years, and was actually quite impressed with the show this year. The overall quantity and quality of the cars was much better then I had seen at their shows in the past. No annoying stage show is a huge bonus too.

The only part I thought was kind of dumb was the fenced off bit with the exotics at the north end. I get wanting to block them off, but the cars at the back were like 40ft away.

Downside to the "no stage show" is that the stage this year had literally no seating. So by the end of the day, everyone was standing during the awards and auction. Not fun when you've been there all day lol.

I thought that part was the biggest waste of space as well. Might as well not enter. When I was walking by in the early afternoon, each owner was literally standing by their car on their phone. Just the worst...

Yah I was shocked to see no real grand stands around the stage. I was glad there was no DJ on stage though, what did you guys think? I liked how each booth has heir own music, and subs going etc. No need to scream at each other over the loud music. Maybe I'm just old.
