Default Bell TV vs Telus TV

Been with Bell for years. But have been thinking about switch to Telus.
Don't care to much about channels. As the main channels will do. I'm more looking at the PVR devices and to see if they are any better than Bell and the old shit that they have.

So my questions are, what do you like more when it comes just using the devices, how do you find using the PVR and any other likes or dislike?

*I Hate Shaw, so I will not go there.*

Why not go into a Telus store and play around with their in store PVR's and see if you like or dislike what they have to offer.

Also like to know what others think. Not just base it on 5 min of playing around.

Was a Bell customer like 6 years ago, had Bell Satellite. I switched to Telus and never looked back. I don't even mind paying full price after the promo finished because to me it was the best setup. Once you go central pvr, you never go back. Remote scheduling of shows off app is also neat, among other things. I like mine and have had it for the last 6 years. I actually canceled my bell contract just to go with Telus....told them I am moving to a condo where I can't have satellite....they bought it so no $$$ penalty for me

i really like the Telus interface. They recently updated it which made it even more slick than before. Can't compare with Bell tho since i haven't used their newer devices

I always thought Bell had the best layout guide/pvr, plus I found their channel order made more sense to me. Big pluses were the "Subscribed Channels only" in the guide and ability to ascend/descend channel order.

But no central box makes it seem antiquated, needing a $600 box for every TV was hard to justify.

Telus boxes do "subscribed channels" as well. Also good point about the central box. I have a central box and then 3 wireless in my house.

Telus interface is awesome now. They've updated it a couple times in the past year and it's great. Can't comment on how it compares to Bell, but I can't see any glaring areas where improvement is needed. Not to mention it's lightyears ahead of the shitass interface that shaw offers (which looks the same as it did like a decade ago )

Central PVR is great, as is the ipad/iphone remote interface. Super slick for scheduling/browsing recorded shows.

Bell feels like PVRs from 2004. Oh wait, I think they're still running PVR's from 2004.

Actually, they did get an upgraded PVR in 2012, but yea, it's stripped down to shit compared to the US equivalent PVR from Dish Network (share hardware).

I'm only with Bell purely for PQ even though it's 720p only. If Shaw or Telus ever finds more bandwidth, I'd be gone.

Yep, subscribe channels only is on telus as well, for anyone curious, you have to click on the option button and it's under favourites list or something like that, click on that and change to subscribed channels only.

Shaw finally updated their's a little while ago. Now it looks like it's from 2005.
