Looks like the next few months are going to be quite the gongshow down South... Ugh

Traffic going north on Deerfoot this morning was remarkably light, lots of people using Stoney and cutting back to Barlow is where congestion was worse than usual but probably about normal in total commute time.
I thought it would be quiet heading south on Saturday night at midnight.. boy was I wrong. Felt like 8am monday rush hour. Bumper to bumper all the way back to deerfoot meadows. Nightmare for sure .
I MAKE BALLER CARS MORE BALLER.....
I've said it many times before. I'm so happy I don't live down there. Normal traffic going to and from the South end of the city is bad enough, this must be awful
I left my place at 7:15 and traffic on Deerfoot was significantly less than a normal weekday. Usually traffic will be backed up to between Barlow and 130th, today the backup started about halfway between Douglasdale and Barlow. Everyone seems to be taking other routes, 18th street had way more traffic on it than normal.
Stoney had noticeably more traffic today. So in other words one massive line up of cars in the left lane
Going to very, very much enjoy my bike ride home next to deerfoot this afternoon...2 months to go!
Yeah, I was blown away how much traffic there was this morning. Thank fuck it's happening during summer and I can ride. The only spot I couldn't pass was the 2-lane stretch near 16th Ave.Originally posted by Ca_Silvia13

Barlow was a disaster as well.
They need to instead of repairing make that a 3 lane bridge that doesn't get merging traffic on and off right before and during. Make the Anderson turn off a separate lane

That's all fine and dandy and a great idea too but for now it is just not happening. Maybe in the future and I believe there have been studies done and plans made but who knows when that will happen.Originally posted by theken

So for now, it's just maintenance, which has to be done, and several months of traffic headaches for the people who use this bit of Deerfoot and now other affected roadways.
Everyone inner-city is breathing a sigh of relief

The city bought some if lafarges land to do something. But we know they will fuck it up
Thought Remington Development bought it?Originally posted by theken

I thought I would come up Macleod instead, the overpass construction there made it a clown show this morning to.. Way to synchronize projects ..
Too loud for Aspen
Cross this bridge everyday going to and from work. Shit.
Barlow NB was a shitshow, same with Glenmore WB this morning. I assume it's a lot of people trying to avoid Deerfoot. Took probably 20-30 minutes to get from 52st to Ogden Rd on WB Glenmore this morning. Going home I took Deerfoot NB from Barlow as I usually do, traffic was worse than usual but only by 10~ mins.
On my way home I noticed that Anderson EB towards Deerfoot/Deerfoot South turn off was pretty much a parking lot. Backed up past Bonaventure.
Glenmore was a total cluser F at 2 in the afternoon. Rush hours gonna be awfull in the SE around 5
