So many frames. I am guessing $1000-$1200 cdn though for reference, hopefully the 3rd party cards can come in less. Still waiting for a 1080ti though as I only have a 1080p monitor currently.

I'm still on a 660 Ti so I'm looking to upgrade finally... think I'll wait for the 1070 though, the 1080 seems overkill for my monitor cuz it's just an ultrawide with no fast refresh rate

I'm waiting to grab a 1070 and overhaul my rig. Figure by the time they are in stock reasonably well that hopefully I can grab a CV1 or Vive VR set

I'll likely replace my 970 with a 1070, and give the wifey the 970 to replace her 760.

    In other Nvidia news...

    Self driving cars!

Quite the contrast with AMD and the PC market in general, where it's all doom and gloom.

I think both are hoping VR will drum up some business and AMD got the low margin console market to keep them afloat.

As for Nvidia 10 series, I think Nvidia paid for the hype train. I think overall performance will be around 25% faster than 9 series of the same class unless some Nvidia specific API kicks in.

We will see when the benchmark comes and how it really performs under DX12.

Would you guys say the best bang for the buck these days for 2560X1440 is still the GTX 970? I might be looking to replace my 560Ti soon but I don't need anything too crazy. I'm hoping this 1070 will lower the prices on everything else a bit.

It can't even do 4k, so that sucks. Not even high enough frame rate for 1440p on many of those games.

After reading the review on Toms Hardware, my opinion is that you should wait for the third parties to release their versions of the card at least, if not the 1080Ti. For all the noise that Nvidia made, the benches aren't that great. Still a very good measured improvement of around 30% over last gen cards in general though. What stood out in the benches that I saw was that there was a higher variance between max and min FPS compared to last gen cards.

only if you are sticking with green team. AMD 390 is better but also runs hotter.

Thanks. I do like Nvidia - never had a single problem with any of their products, and the new card would also allow me to stream games to my Nvidia Shield TV. Power consumption and low heat on the 970 is nice, however the 8GB on the 390 is also impressive as it does seem to be the higher performer.

I have a 980. I'm upgrading to a 1070 SLI setup soon. Wanna buy my card?

If you haven't done sli before, you might be more interested in a 1080.

I've done SLI a few times in the past.

I generally buy a new card within its recent release window, and then a second six/eight months later once the prices go down a bit.

Gotcha. I did that the the 970 to try SLI for once but was overall underwhelmed. I think I am going back to a single card once the 1080ti comes out.
