LOL. How many American kids see this guy as a Hero?
Apparently the SEALs knew of the embellishment, but kept quiet because they liked the positive media attention Kyle brought them.

The X5 i bought earlier this year really is FULLY LOADED though not a single option missing including infrared night driving
IMO anyone who is going to argue his claims should provide their name - otherwise I don't put any weight in it.

But Kyle, who was murdered by a fellow military veteran several years after leaving the Navy, embellished his military record, according to internal Navy documents obtained by The Intercept. During his 10 years of military service and four deployments, Kyle earned one Silver Star and three Bronze Stars with Valor, a record confirmed by Navy officials.

No military officer who has been prohibited by higher echelon from speaking about the case is going to put a hat on saying they're speaking about the case just so lasimmon on Beyond.ca can read it and say, "OK, now I'll take you more seriously."Originally posted by lasimmon

No one wants to publicly speak against whom many in America see as a war hero with nothing to gain from it.

Correct, reading the case showed that this guy was a habitual liarOriginally posted by 01RedDX
Jesse Ventura sued Kyle for lying about him and won almost 2 million from his estate, it's no secret that Kyle had a habit of lying.

Yea, Chris Kyle isnt a hero. He did his job well, in a war that was never supposed to be fought in the first place.
The Dept. of Defence does this with many members. American Footballer Pat Tillman was killed by his own team (accidentally/murdered) yet he was glorified by the DoD originally, until the news cycle died out and the truth became more clear.
If Jesse Ventura calls you a liar, guess what: you're a liar.
You and I have very different opinions on Jesse Ventura.Originally posted by Hallowed_point

My understanding is the lawsuit was over the comment and not the punch, is that correct?
Kyle claimed that Ventura stated "Dead U.S soldiers deserved it", or something to that effect and that he then punch him. I thought there was a number of people who testified they saw Ventura on the ground, or saw him leaving with a bloody lip etc. Fraudulently claiming he punched Ventura doesn't really constitute defamation does it? It's more about the claim Ventura said the inflammatory "soldiers" comment?
I can't speak to the integrity of Kyle's battlefield claims, but I do believe he punched Ventura. I was listening to OandA that day live.

^ photos of Jesse taken the next day show no evidence of a fight. Mr. Kyle was in top physical form.
Jesse is on blood thinners and it what, 60 years old? That was one of the major deciding factors apparently.
Fair enough, didn't know the blood thinner details, thanks.Originally posted by revelations

Jesse happened to be at SiriusXM studios after the verdict so he popped his head in. Class act all the way

Pretty dumb to lie about stuff there is record of
Doesn't really matter anymore, he was a good sniper and getting into the SEALs, especially team six, is probably one of the hardest things in the world to do, so whatever. Sucks that he died helping someone. I would expect anyone who that has been through multiple tours of war, subjected to stress most of us can't even imagine and killed dozens of people to be a little bit off.

There's plenty of information out there in support of a claim that this guy was a violent, racist piece of shit. It's just not something the mass media is really talking about since it reflects badly on him, the SEALS, and probably the US war machine in general.
It was a good movie though....
...@therealarifjina...
Kris Kyle was never in Devgru/Team Six.
The last PMC I worked for interacted a lot with his company, Craft International, having been on a multi company contract in the same region. This was before Kyle was killed. There were already rumblings about his embellishments and tendency to stretch things - his defenders would call them "sea stories", others just called them "bullshit". Could have been related to PTSD or just having killed a lot of people, I've seen others who have killed many end up having odd mental issues - my best friend was a USMC Scout Sniper in the Iraq War, in the most decorated Marine Unit, 5th Regiment 1st Marines, SSgt. Brent Clearman, and before he was killed, he often described similar behavior with what were once solid, honest people - they'd become strangers to the truth for inexplicable reasons. He had his own demons, having shot a very large number of people himself, being at the very tip of the spear of the invasion for weeks, and then getting a lot of trade once the occupation began.
