Driven by a white dude, pretty cool colour. Similar to Ford’s lead-foot

So the 7-digits started at BAA 0000 i assume?

Does that mean AAA0000 to AZZ9999 are up for grabs?

7-digit plates started at BBB-0000 and A, E, I, O, Q, U are skipped. I enjoyed having vowels on the plates as in the 6-digit series although those were sort of back-filled (i.e, it started with BBB-000 first and vowels were added much later).

    Interesting.

Lack of vowels mostly to try and abate the chance of words coming out and they can't put a stop or a skip in the manufacturing process so easily?

Or just to keep the sales of vanity plates up?

I know the DVLA UK has done that before, blocking anything that would have started "SN07" as it looked like "SNOT" and instead issued "TF07"

Basically I was hoping I could get AYR1910 from the registry as a vanity...should just go down and see if they'll allow it or not

Yes, lack of vowels mainly to avoid questionable words. The 6-digit series added vowels from "THE" prefix onwards, going up to ZZZ-999, then reverted back to BAA-000 and filled in all the vowel gaps (vowels being A, E, U, Y) - this added about another 7 years' supply of plates.

I love the UK's system - it is so fun to see how much people are willing to pay for a personalised reg. It is also fun to see how people have to be creative to get the plate they want. SN07 was a cool prefix - I would love to get something like SN07 TTY. Didn't some cars get issued SN07 registrations and were able to keep them?

Yeah, I think you can go and ask if AYR1910 can be had as a vanity - never hurts to ask.

Yeah they can get quite expensive since they're all literally coincidental...i got outbid at auction for HAG 611S (issued 1975). It went for almost £5000 + VAT

SN07 was a preemptive pull, they stopped it after a wave of people putting in notifications for things like SN07TTY and SN07TER coming for purchase...at least that was the story at the time

I don't believe any such thing happened for SN08 though
