Anyone who is panicking after ONE game with a new coach, new system, new team members, and new lineups/pairings is a fucking idiot.

Remember those years when the Oilers and Leafs started the season with really good records? Man, those led to some deep playoff runs eh?

TJ sure he is a great skater. Gio was getting dummied all night though. He didn't look good.

Ya. No clue what happened in 2nd period and about 2/3 of 3rd. Just stopped skating. Then we woke up last 6 or 7 mins. So shitty.

The big players need to step up and earn their paycheques. I know it's early but Monny looks slow, and Brodie isn't his dominant self yet. A few others to mention. And yes Elliott isn't playing like a guy who has one of the best save % although he did have many great saves vs Edmonton on Friday.

Johnson stood on his head tonight. Excellent performance.

I know it's early, but as much as the guys hated Hartley, with Gulutzan we just don't seem to have the same confidence behind the bench.. He seems so los,t like a used car salesman who has 12 hours to make a sale before he gets fired and has to sleep in his van.

Some great takeaways from tonight's game, but let's be honest. We didn't score.

Sutter was a machine. Awesome game for him.

Both goalies were good though, when they were actually in net to defend the shots.

Agreed. Johnson was definitely in beast mode tonight. I have way more confidence in him right now versus Elliot.

Flames took a couple undisciplined penalties tonight, and I think that is what lost the game, because Johnson gave us every chance to win, and the team let him down.

Having said that, the Flames had LOTS of scoring chances, they just couldn't finish and did fairly well on the PK and shitting on the Sedins.

The flames played back to back games against speedy teams, and outside of the last 3 minutes managed to keep it essentially a level game, though tending on both ends were hot, as exhibited by the shootouts going to the 4th round.

though its likely their legs were tired, I found that the defence were really worn out and skating out of the zone without enough urgency to make the right play nor were dumping in the puck to give enough time for the forward line changes.

so many plays were just clearing the puck up the boards for neutral ice battle, that the nucks were constantly winning...

Also, many I swear it must be Jonny's timing, but boy was he turning the puck over with relative ease (simple poke checks) up high or in the middle, creating so many offensive opportunities for the nucks.

surprisingly the power play defence and special teams offense moved the puck well

TJ didn't look like his speedy smooth self, and where I would have thought he wouldn't have had as much pressure... he found trouble finding a good play and was just clearing the pucks anywhere out of the defensive zone he could... at least its the safe play

GIO is awesome, so consistent... he brings a aggressive "game on" style and high level of compete with every shift. glad he's the captain.

he's a non-dirty hard-nosed puck moving defenceman, who skates well, has decent vision, is physical for his size, and has a very good shot. Though he's not as gifted like a Karlsson or Doughty... his compete level is right up there with the best captains, Bergie, Toews, Crosby..

the nucks are obviously not as bad as the roster rates... Willie knows how to maximize the team's potential even through their rebuild... and I'm not a vancouver fan at all

I think it was more Ericksson that gave the flames every chance to win

Johnson was awesome though, hopefully they give him more starts based on that performance.
