Default 2021 Calgary Election Ward 7 Voter Options.

Going to do my own life after Druh review of people running.
    Ward 7 options.

    Greg Amoruso
    1) Pretty sure he's a real estate agent but is saying rezoning laws need to change. Hmm I doubt it.

    2) Seems like he tried to get onto Chestermere counsel in 2017. Greg appears to aspire to be a bureaucrats wherever he can.
    https://www.theanchor.ca/2017/meet-y...-greg-amoruso/

    3) His platform seems to have the typical items everyone has complained about at the city for years. He didn't dig too deep for this.

Summary: Real Estate agent... Moving on.

    Matt Lalonde
1)Masters in Architecture and planning... Seems promising. City needs better planning for works.
    2) Works at Copyco for 7yrs?!
Edit: Found out it's a family business. He's middle of the fence for me.

    Heather McRae
    1) Basically Druh Farrell in a Scooby doo mask.
    2) Boom! Just found out she worked on Druh's re-election campaign in 2013. I knew I could smell something. All the paid for people posing in her photos and crap.
    3) Worked in O&G. Ok not that bad... Except it was leader for arranging bs non value adding initiatives.

    Marilyn North Pegan
1)Vote if you want city decisions to be crippled with bureaucracy on reconciliation and inclusion.
    2) Definitely an increase in fiscal spending here.
    3) Resolution Health Support Worker with AHS and promo crew for Folk Music Festival.
Summary: This doesn't end well for an already struggling city.

    Benjamin Shepherd
    1) Platform is open up the city. Lockdowns no more. Reduce taxes!
    2) Can't find any history on this guy except for a podcast he guested on for this election and I'm not watching it.
Summary: Look out. Might be a lose cannon.

    Erin Waite
    1) BA in Canadian Studies. Worked in non-profit. Most likely has poor fiscal responsibility.
    2) Platform is very motherly. Wants everyone to get along and do great things. Likely she gets stomped if she wins.
Summary: @ExtraSlow might like her motherly nature.

    Derek Williams
    1) Standard Calgary guy 30-40yrs old and like beer, hockey and has a young family.
    2) Has had a lot of jobs. Not sure this is good but life experience, right? Might have people skills.
Summary: I could see him posting in the What are you drinking thread on beyond. But not as much as @89coupe

    Terry Wong
    1) Already has worked 29yrs at the City of Calgary. Doesn't he already have a good enough pension??
    2) Guy loves his City employer. He knows how it works... Sorry, wrong word, not 'works' knows how to show up for the role.

Summary: Want a guy already oozing City of Calgary Kool-Aid? Vote him.

So who's closest to winning? Anyone know?
(Besides McRae who probably basically has Druh's votes).
    Derek Williams or Ben Shepherd?

Not that I know much about Matt Lalondes platform, but CopyCo is his families business... I wouldnt take that as a negative.

I am surprised people still cares about Ward 7 after Druh is gone.

Is Beyond now on anyone but McRae train?

Thanks for starting this. I really have no idea who to vote for for Ward 7.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. Rather than random pick at the voter box I'd do some reviewing.

They have virtually no power. Certainly they have zero say over the curriculum.

Probably, but don't wanna split the vote too hard and allow McRae to hop in.

Terry Wong, lives in my neighbourhood and it might be my only shot at getting my 20% grade on my driveway fixed (city fucked up the road design so they would need to rework the road for 7 houses, I’m in contact with 4 city departments on the in the last 2 years).

If it helps, r/calgary thinks he’s a fascist

Hopefully a cis-gendered heteronormative white male gets elected, as r/calgary wants.

That's the most likely result in every riding.
