Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
So do you have insider information in calling it a strike already?
Will fuck off, again.

fucking unions
Well because of their shit I have to walk down the street to get my mail.
So fuck them, and fuck you
/sarcasm
Hopefully they get door to door mail back, I'm lazy and hate walking to the end of the block, now I go a week or two without checking for mail
sig deleted by moderator, because they are useless
How would that be the union's fault?Originally posted by dirtsniffer

Canada Post is a great example of the dark side of unions. Don't get me wrong, I think the idea of unions is a great one for fair treatment in the workplace.
From my experience, CP takes ZERO action/responsibility when they fuck up and lose parcels etc. Also, 99% of what I actually need goes to my email. Oh no, I won't get a papa johns flyer..

Priced themselves out of the delivery service. Didn't get superboxes in their contract and now contractors deliver to all superboxes. Now I don't get tracking. Sometimes it says delivered 2-3 days before it shows up.Originally posted by speedog

Yeah, I agree with this as well. Or what's even better, in my brothers shop it was a well known thing that the management and union president were buddies. Conflict of interest much?Originally posted by Sugarphreak
Even then, the government has long since implemented fair labour and safety laws
Unions are antiquated relics of the past that have turned into paycheck middle men. Most places where they exist, they try to create a division between the staff and management in an attempt to stay relevant. It ends up hurting the company, and then hurting the staff later on. They need to be phased out all together.
It should be; if you have a problem with your wage or safety conditions... man the fuck up and go talk to your supervisor, boss, or manager. If that fails, most companies have an HR department that will take your concerns seriously these days.
It shouldn't be; The staff holding the company hostage for a 25 cent raise over 3 years.
I am rethinking sending parcels around Canada for ARCH. I send $800-1400 remote control trucks all over the place, and I always ship them tracked, signature required, and fully insured rounded up to the next $100 level.Originally posted by Hallowed_point

This last one I sent, the PO employee told me to make sure I kept my receipt, not only for the tracking, but what I paid for the RC truck too, because "It is a total bitch trying to get Canada Post to pay out claims."
I really don't want a hassle, and if I insure a package for a certain dollar amount, and they lose it or fuck it up, it shouldn't matter if I have a receipt for the rig or not...
I am exploring other options now.

I still agree with what you're saying
for those thinking delivery hasn't been affected already, think again.
I'm waiting on a package that shipped June 16th, should have had it June 22 and I'm still waiting for it. Fuckers.
CP is great 95% of the time. However, they've left a sour taste in my mouth with the lousy follow up if there's an issue. I've had to call them multiple times when the postie forgets to lock the mail boxes at work. Just getting through to someone is an event. 9/10 times, no one even shows up to secure the boxes. There was also an incident where they lost one of my packages and told me to file a dispute with the ebay shipper. The thing is, the shipper didn't lose it. USPS got it to CP who apparently delivered it somewhere to someone. CP's ombudsman thing is a joke. I could go on and on.Originally posted by spikerS

Good blurb as to why CP is striking and how we the tax payers are likely going to have to bail out all these unionized golden parachute pension plans.
