    Default Condo Key Fobs

Has anyone had any experience getting extra key fobs for their secured condos?

Mine looks like the one on the bottom row, second from the left and I want to get an extra just in case I lost my current one.

My condo board charges $150 for one, which seems to be excessive, does anyone know of a way to get one made at a more reasonable cost?

theyre still going to have to program it so even it you get the fob for less how much do they charge to program it into the condo system?

If it's just rfid it's cheap to get a copier.

Your only problem is that these are technically illegal under lockpicking tools without a license.

Depending the brand some add an encryption key that prevents it from being copied.

All these clone services uses the same shit I posted on eBay. They're charging the same price for 1 clone as the cost of a copier + 10 cards and fobs.

Wow... Crazy, I had no idea this kind of thing existed. Thanks Rage.

I just need to figure out how to make it work with my parkade/garage opener.

    There's ways to do this...

Not unlike the repeater method used to steal some cars (think big fricken antenna to receive/xmit to fob - then a local send/receive to car). If your garage remote was next to an sdr - with a switch to enable transmit, and you had a local sdr to rebroadcast, connected via IP...

But yeah a transmit enabled sdr isnt cheap... never mind 2 of them...

But anything is possible - you just have to put your horned rim glasses on...

Depending on the reader it may be cheapest to pay the $150. The link that rage posted works with a lot of older systems but anything like a HID iClass reader it won't be able to emulate the signal. I had to eat $5k on my last building access system job because I thought I could get away with generic non-proprietary hardware.

If the hardware is proprietary it won't work. If you can find out how long they have had the system you can have an idea if it's likely to work around (most likely pre-2007 you should be ok).

TLDR: For $20.00 it's worth a shot but if it's a newer system probably better off spending the 150 up front.

OP, You need to know what frequency the cards are operating on. I have multiple weigand 26bit fobs I can send you for free, but it really depends on what your building is using.

If it's a newer building it's most likely using an iclass multiclass reader, which would be beneficial.

Also some access control systems only allow for limited site codes, so implanting a random card batch may not work.

If all else fails, I can order specific site codes and cards. I believe my cost is $3/Card? minimum 25 card order unfortunately.

Yeah, for $20 it's worth the gamble. LOL, coming from China, I was quoted ETA Thu. 21 Jul. - Mon. 29 Aug.

Brandon, on my keyfob there is a 12 digit number, and a the vendor. I imagine it's a reference to the account for my condo mgmt co.

My fob is the middle one.

    Is that the newer fob-reader?

Keep us updated, my condo has the same Fob as you Neil. Just spent $200 to get a new one as one of mine stopped working. Would be nice to have extras, if only just for the front door and elevator, not really concerned about garage functionality.
