I've decided, for sure not powering up Kyogre (Because I already have 3 water Gyrados)
Also not powering up Mewtwo *gasp* as its not a high IV one, and its also only boosted under what seems to be the rare "windy" condition.

Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
Mark it on the calendar Feb 24th for three hours, increased dratini spawns and triple stardust on catches.

And yes, the bubbles move on that page. Thought my brain was melting when I first saw that page.

New commercial, not that they need more people playing:

Completely unfounded Rumor:
Unknown has a chance of spawning at sponsored or sanctioned pokemon events. In Calgary, that usually means the University of Calgary or possibly Shoebox.
Never been to Shoebox personally, but might make a trip of it.

Rayquaza and last of generation 3 common pokemon release tomorrow. Now that they have "news" ingame, probably won't bother repeating it.
Personally powered up one level 40 perfect Cloyster just for this occasion. Once again, rock throw/stone edge Golem will be of great use, especially if partly cloudy.

Incredibly useful info on which Pokémon can "be Ditto" https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...n-can-be-ditto
Personally hit level 40 a while ago, top mon:
Groudon 4030
Tyranitar 3619
Dragonite 3534
Entei 3377
Gyrados 3281
Gyrados 3273
Rhydon 3249
Gyrados 3249
Rhydon 3242
Rhydon 3211
Blissey 3206
Vaporeon 3115
Blissey 3114
Second Blissey is nearing completion, but has been put on the backburner because I need Magikarp candies (overspent on Gyrados and did not leave enough for a full evolution, should have known better)

Last day for shiny Lugia
Plus first day for https://pokemongolive.com/en/post/le...-latioslatias/
Time for the hardcore players to take a breather. Latios and Latias are ... Ok, but Dragonite and Lugia are for the battlers. Only one mew per account, so - also - might as well take your time with it. If there ever was a time to acquire a Tyranitar army from raids, now is probably it.

Now that Mew is available, there are more people looking to finish off gen 1, which means finding a MewTwo raid eligible gym:

Weather boost down. I'm a little surprised they did not make the 5 level weather boost a consumable item.

Weather boosted HitMonLee raid boss successfully soloed with 2 seconds left.
Lugia 40, Alakazam 40, and Espeon 35 used.

Nice job, how about Hitmonchan? Have you tried yet?
Will try soon, I don't ever plan on leveling up Latios or Latias especially since there are no shinys for it - will definitely try more solos.
Even though the weather is great, I've slowed down on this last event - I've already got a Machamp Army. This "fighting" even actually has me fighting much less than normal, just for the idea that its just easier for level 40's to hold a gym overnight or for long periods of time and get points that way.

What is a good average IV on those? I've got like 500 machop candies but all of mine are in the 60's...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Many players wait until the last day of the event to power up mon that spawned more frequently during an event. Personally I will do the same.
Its a little bit easier at level 40 because the CP makes it easier to estimate. In general though, if its a 15 attack and 80%+ its worth evolving and keeping and maybe powering up.
If you want to maximize this event for catches and are level 34 or higher, try to catch wild fighting types when "cloudy boosted" - the boost makes a big difference and you won't have to waste any stardust to get a very decent useable Machamp army. If you are level 29 or lower - play more at all times, catch everything and race to 34 so that you maximize weather boosts.
They actually did a pretty good job of incentivizing play for casuals and slowing down the game for hardcores. The incentive to go beyond level 39 is much less because of the mon powerup cap. A level 30 mon is about 8.4% less effective than a level 40 mon.

I've been using CalcyIV and pretty much dismissing anything less than 60ish percent. About 1/3 into 32 here. Got a stack of pidgeys that I'll lucky egg soon. Also have some I have yet to evolve for new discovery so that'll help. Now if there's a double XP event when I can do this...
