That doesn't even make sense. Nintendo did do arcade games before the Famicom but they were all failures with the exception of Donkey Kong.

Really, Galaga and Pac-Man were there probably included because they were the first golden-era arcade games to get ported into a home console, with the exception of Donkey Kong which was a launch title for the Famicom. Both those games sold well on NES/Famicom.

The problem with a lot of the iconic NES games is that the rights are owned by companies unwilling to give the rights to have on the NES Classic.

Or Nintendo was unwilling to pay the higher prices for the rights. Which is probably the reason it has Super C instead of Contra.

That said I was surprised they didn't just put all of the "black box" titles on the Classic NES

thats probably why they made it offline only and easily hackable, now they can just wash their hands of it, customers get what they want, and nintendo doesn't have any legal obligations as far as licensing, also they have no way of preventing it from happening, so now they get more hardware sales from it.

for a raspberry pi3b you're best to just grab one from memex, they're pretty reasonable at $60, i have been looking to get a few more but can only find them for a few bucks cheaper than that anyway so its not really worth the headache.

I picked mine up at MemEx as well. Always nice to see Vagabond142 when I go to the Dalhousie location.

Yeah, I got that bundle around Christmas. It comes with the official Raspberry Pi PSU and a memory card that's guaranteed to work with it.

This one sells out fast so if you're gonna get one, jump on it quick. In fact, it just came back in stock today and I bought another one.

yes. with all the tutorials and programs already built to make you a retropi, its literally plug and play. no coding needed either when installing kodi.

i am gonna have to disagree, there's still a bit of work involved, far from plug and play, i haven't done kodi on my retropie build, i know its possible, but even the retropie side is not plug and play. there's a lot of configuration required which is above the head of a lot of people.

What are your plans with that? Reftrofit a raspberry Pi into it? I've seen it done with a nes and the guy even made cartridges for it.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

I'm super proud of my setup. I used berryboot to do a dual kodi/retropie setup.

I then configured retropie to launch moonlight (steam/nvidia streaming) and virtual USB, so I can plug my logitech g25 into the retropie and play steam racing games on any TV in my house (on top of any of the emulators)

I've set it up to use different resolution and FPS as well if it's feeling laggy or what not. Super convenient.

I found that installing the Kodi client within Retropie never worked for me, but now there's a Retropie client within Kodi as well.

Dual-boot FTW. I bought the Canakit for $100 off Amazon, since it came with the beefier 2.5A power supply (which is recommended for overclocking).

Edit: This one was $99 when I bought it.
