Does it say anywhere that it is going to be hd. It says hdmi cable so we can use them on newer tvs. Bought my sister a sega retro system and it still looks like junk.

It doesn't say HD...I assumed because of HDMI cable...awww man....now Arif is sad...
...@therealarifjina...
Its going to be HDMI with 720p commimg from a. Emulation style box. It will look better than the old systems. I'm also going to assume they will have some scaling algorithms and scan lines support.
Oh...Arif is a little happier now....

Ya im not saying it wont. But i couldnt find any info on what quality of video it will put out. I would love some mario in 720 or 1080. I was playing my emulators for snes today on computer cant wait for this.
it'll be poo graphics, but they will be scaled poo.
I will be picking one up. at $80, even if i only pick it up every once and a while its still worth it.
Translated from a French interview with Nintendo“What is interesting is that we can play through HDMI, but there will be different modes of how we will see the screen – a mode simulating the retro aspect of our old CRT screens, there will be a mode which can be at the resolution of the modern screens in 4:3 format, and a pixel perfect mode which will display each pixel as a square, so people can have fun with this too.”
Hopefully it's not a pure emulation.
I just installed a high def kit to the nes using the kevtris mod but here's a video of what it looks like.
Hardware up scaling is a lot better than the emulation.

Has anyone found out when the pre-sales happen?
Pre sales are sold out at most places.
You can call videogame trader and they might have some left.

Hardware upscaling is just software on a discrete or FPGA chip.Originally posted by locust
Hardware up scaling is a lot better than the emulation.
Software upscaling is quite a bit more versatile and you don't need to sacrifice anything for the algorithms or Implementation compared to when moving to hardware.
All hardware upscaling is based on software.
The quality of the implementation is often what causes issues.
Emulation itself and scaling are two separate issues, there are now emulators like puNES or bSNES that are super accurate.
dang...didn't know about the presale. Where else besides video game traders for preorder?Originally posted by Alterac

But when i talked to ebgames and bestbuy, it doesn't sound like there is an official pre-order yet for calgary, but maybe i just talked to dumnbasses. I found a pre-order for best buy but it's american.
The ebgames told me to call back in sept and check. accuracy....
EDIT: Sorry - to be clear, the nintendo mini is still being released Nov. 11, 2016. What I mean is edgames told me to call back in Sept. to see if there's a pre-order.

I've never understood presale, why commit to buying from a specific retailer now when you can just wait and buy it wherever you want when it is released? It's not like they're going to have a massive shortage of units the day it's released.
I'll bet against that, first day shortages will be common
What's going to happen is someone will buy a ton of the commom stores stock and resell it.
Woah I thought this was being released in Nov! Nice!!!
Ultracrepidarian
It's still out in November
From what I can find, it seems the pre-order was in the US only, and sold out in minutes on all platforms. Apparently Amazon launched a global pre-sale, but it didn't show on .caOriginally posted by BokCh0y
