Every new XBox and Playstation has run into shortages, so who's to say it won't happen with this? The nostalgia factor is going to be massive with this unit, bringing in buyers that haven't played a video game since the NES/SNES days. I have friends waiting to jump on a pre-sale, that haven't touched a video game in 20 years, because they want to make sure they get this.

Pre-sale = guaranteed product delivered to your door the day of release, eliminating the need to go to a mall/ shopping center, and saving you from having to deal with the idiots/ traffic associated with said shopping areas. How is that not a win

It's a good strategy as it drives people nuts "gotta have it gotta have it gotta have it!"

It also prevents you from being stuck with a pile of hardware that nobody wants if it were to bomb for some reason.

It's really win-win, kind of like Kickstarter.

It's so hard to decide on buying this, because having Retropie on my Pi3 with hundreds of NES/SNES/SEGA ROMs already loaded almost defeats the purpose of spending money on this console... But I need a mini NES..

Anyone get one or try one yet? I'm expecting it to be a gimmicky dust collector that gets a week's worth of use. Maybe decent for parties.

I have a Rasperry Pi3 with RetroPie installed and it does a great job of playing NES/SNES/MAME etc games but its not like I play it on a regular basis.

Can't see myself buying this for only 30 NES games.

It's going be a dust collector but I still want one.

It won't be in the AV area though, thanks to that 2.5 ft controller cable. Most likely near my PC setup.
