    ya noticed my upload has gone up just did a test and sitting at 167D/167U

    however they didn't give me the second year rate is that new? i got it for $47 for the first 6 months then $49 for the last 6 months no contract

    Must depend on who you get in retentions. Or if they just offer you something over the phone.

    Wow, good deal for 150/150. I was with Telus for three years.. I wonder if I can get them to offer me that to come back to them. Did you call a special number or just into normal customer service?

    I'm currently with Telus and I Called them to price match and they said they would match shaw's offer point to point, but then they said based on my usage I don't need 150mbs.

    At the end my monthly bill went down from $135/month (TV + Fiber 50) to $52/month for year 1 and $110 for year 2.

    310-2255. Then talked to agent, and she transferred me to retentions. All I said was, I was interested in Shaw's offer, and I would save the money from cancelling my contract with Telus before the first year is out with Shaw. BOOM! Retentions, and an offer match. I was calm and courteous, so that probably helped, and I knew the offer and price of what I would get from Shaw, because I pre-shopped a package.

    TELUS 150 is now $85 / month with 1TB.

    So year 2, Shaw's deal only gets you $5/month off the regular price at TELUS.

    Looks like my Hitron modem at home just disconnected again. Won't be able to reboot it until this evening. I wish there was a way to remotely reboot it.

    I think you can call Shaw and they can do it.

    Haven't had that problem (yet)

    No issues with my Hitron either in the weeks since I upgraded. It's been perfect. With the amount of modems Shaw goes through I've got to believe some are duds.

    Well, you could plug it into a timer, one of those old school push pin ones, and just have it cycle on/off once at like 3am every day.

    FWIW, I had to reboot my Telus modem, fiber box, and router usually once sometimes twice a week depending on usage, so I guess to me its normal to have to reboot your network once in a while.....its all still a computer system afterall....

    Weird, I have been with Telus for last 6 or 7 years, and like 3 or 4 of them on fiber, haven't had to touch the fiber modem at all, it's on ups battery even from Telus themselves and never touched it. When I got 150mbps they had to give me a new router (not the fiber part, but the Actiontec), before I shut it down I saw uptime of 432 days. Maybe I am just lucky but my parents in Silverado are same deal, never touch their stuff at all.

    It's a known issue. They are working on a fix, not hardware related.

    When they do late night maintenance (either planned or emergency), when everything comes back up, no devices behind the Hitron can connect. Requires a power cycle on the modem.

    I just called in to telus, I wanted the telus 150. I've been out of the country for the past 5 weeks, and it was 125 dollars for 150/30.

    Call in today, its 80 bucks for 150/150.

    Finally! Getting it installed on the 26.

    I gave up and made the switch to Shaw last night, not knowing telus is now offering 150 so I was pissed. But since I am not in Calgary, Telus does not yet offer that here in Lethbridge. Shaw guy showed up around lunch, I went from 20 to 150 (wireless) feels awesome!

    Called in to Telus again, got a very nice dude this time, not like the guy I talked to last time. He was super friendly and helpful and it was no fuss to get Telus to match Shaw and upgrade me. Should be done tomorrow. I forgot to ask about the upload, so we'll see.
