Sounds like some are getting Year 2 for $80.
Thing is, if you don't mind switching, the Shaw deal seems much better and hopefully doesn't involve the sharing mentioned by Telus by their rep (still could be BS honestly IDK).
I liked the no contract, so I'll try for Year 2 at $50 again come next August lol.

Just making sure you fuckers aren't messing with my 250 speeds. And to rub it in.

Yup. Speeds have gone down since moving from 100 -> 120 -> 150.

Hmm you need signal extender may be? Otherwise can phone and ask for a solution.
Anyone have any idea when this deal ends?
Not moving into my new place for a few months and want to get on this deal.
GO FLAMES GO!
Well, this is depressing, I should call shaw...currently paying $63.00 for their internet 15 package
What kind of birdhouse can you build with popsicles, roofies, and a rubber mallet?

I can wait, gonna watch the Olympics next month anyhow.
Maybe by then they will have more options.
Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
I think the main speedtest.net speed test server in Calgary is Westnet Wireless. They are probably getting hammered right now by all the 150 users doing speed tests :P

Definitely haha. I was using the Google Fiber speedtest site and it was showing a consistent ~170 Mbps speed as well, but it doesn't share the result as easy as the Speedtest.net site does.Originally posted by Zhariak

so I am on 1 year with Telus thats coming up this November, anybody know what fees they may charge me if i switch to Shaw? or if i call Telus and they could just try and match what Shaw is offering?
trying is the first step towards failure
They blocked Shaw customers for a while there. You can choose to use Shaw speed test server by clicking on Calgary if you're a Shaw customer. It's the only node that can handle my big pipe.Originally posted by Zhariak

I'm still jealous you're running 250...

Got it all setup but can't login to 192.168.0.1 with defaults, hard reset to make it work? My speeds aren't there either. Only getting 85 down
Got my setup today. Apparently I am "flapping" between 27 Mbps and 170 Mbps. Averaging in the high 30's. I recall getting faster speeds when I had BB60. Tech needs to come out again.

If you're testing against the shaw's servers on speedtest.net and you're getting inconsistent speeds, it's either on your side (i.e. bad wifi performance) or your node is saturated in your area which would suck.

Definitely the node methinks 😢
Getting about 45 now. Shouldn't be the router as I was getting 95ish on Fibre. Same slow speeds when I plugged straight into the Hitron. Also plugged the Hitron straight to the inlet cable. The tech said that it is noise related. Does that mean node? If so, I have a few days to switch back to Fibre.Originally posted by rage2

Edit: Internet cut out past midnight. Spend 45 mins with tech support this morning to get it back up. They upgraded the node a 3 years ago and do not see saturation right now. Speeds still suck. Back to Telus I guess.
