That's a good point. Most vehicles seem to be vaporware by my standards. Probably helps me avoid buying them

Can you buy a Rivian? Like today with money?
Yes. I mean, in the same way you can "buy" any other car (I assume they have a waiting list/markup). Someone posted one in a spotted thread on here recently.

I'd have to see how well it handled 3 kids across the back.

You guys are right, in overly pedantic about that one point, which doesn't seem to bother the average consumer.

Not sure why it feels so different than doing a factory order, which I would be totally okay with in a pickup I coukd customize, but somehow it does in my own little brain. If I'm ever going to buy a new car again, I guess I'll need to wait for a deep recession or get over my waiting-list phobia.

I for one am quite supportive of ordering cars online with a credit card.

I wish more people would give me that option.

I'm the same. It's weird. Part of it is signing up for a car now, when in a year or two the car landscape will move. Can you imagine being the guy picking up a Ford GT or something today? It's been very helpful to me that paper launches of vehicles allows me to get over the want/excitement hump and into apathy valley all before I can even buy the car.

Waiting a year or two for a Rivian wouldn't make me more excited for it, but rather far less excited.

No idea it was sold. I was just driving by and saw it in the window so stopped in for a quick peak.

Nice subtle silver... Doesn't look like a color pulled from the pride flag.
