I think we are going to start to see a dramatic shift in marketing strategy from auto makers. Rather than "performance", they are going to focus on the car as a true luxury good...more like watches, or clothes or even sneakers, whatever. The Audi Etron being an example of that.

It'll be surprising if it's still 120k once it gets here imo. Friend ordered a boxter GTS and price went up twice from when he ordered. Finally getting it this Aug. 120k seen like really really good value?!

How solid do you feel that time estimate was BB? I'm hoping that it's somewhat accurate, as I want one too. Initially wanted the AMG 4 and the DCT, but I'll be happy with the supercharged v6 and manual. I've been driving the missus' car with a 6/manual, my busted leg is getting the heel/toe/etc deal back slowly, as the negative side effect of all the metal plates, screws, and rods has cost me a bit of feeling in the foot.

@BavarianBeast - did the car you drove have the sport or touring suspension? I'm leaning towards a touring spec'd car, as I doubt I'll have it on the track much if ever, plus all the reviews I've seen have said that they are pretty close in terms of pushing the car around hard. Really like to hear your input on this as it is the only feature I'm fence sitting about, and this will likely be "the" car for me in terms of a keeper.

Are you comfortable sharing how much $ deposit Lotus is asking for? I know I can just email/call them, but I like having intel already in hand before contacting them for obvious (dealers) reasons.

I’m fairly confident in the timing. They haven’t released all the first edition allocations yet, so I am hoping to get in on one of the first batches of allocations but we’ll see. I should know more in the next 4-5 weeks.

It had the touring suspension and thought it was more than stiff enough for road use. It’ll still do well on the track with the touring suspension too. I’ll go touring when I put my order in.
