Fido Issues?

Just wondering if anyone else has been having issues with Fido today at all or if it's my new S7 Edge that I got unlocked yesterday. Randomly keeps losing Internet and service connection and requires a restart to come back on.

I haven't been having issues with Fido with my s6.

Maybe include a location if you think it's possibly a service issue.

I was in the NE all day and now in the SW in Wentworth.

I got this phone from kijiji a couple days ago and got it unlocked locally. The guy says that it may have been blacklisted and if so will eventually permanently go to no connection. Obviously I am concerned about that or also it being defective somehow.

if the phone has had its screen or what not replaced at one point that can mess things up\

also do you have a case on the phone ? and if so does it have any sort of metal to the case or alloy

Well the phone is supposed to be two weeks old as per the seller.

It does have a case, however, not metal. It's one of those UAG cases.

If it's blacklisted, it will not work period.

No issues with Fido downtown for me. Wifi issues would not be Fido.

If there is an actual problem with the phone, it's probably the real reason he sold it.

It wasn't a wifi issue, it was an issue with my carrier internet.

I read online some cache delete procedure and did that so far it's been working since then. Let's see if anything else goes wrong.

Oh ok, I was confused when you said you lost internet - usually when I hear that it means WiFi. Glad it seems to be working now.

Well it did it again randomly. Data just goes away and doesn't work and only fix is a restart.

I guess it's a defective phone then.

My friend had a similar issue with a previously blacklisted phone. Once they changed the IMEI on it, it started randomly dropping data. Check for this by comparing the IMEI under the battery and in the phone by dialing *#06#.

That's probably why he sold it. Kijiji is famous for that. People just give whatever reason they want for the sale, but really it's been causing them grief and they want to get rid of it with minimal hassle or cost. Happens allllllll the time. Sorry dude. Hopefully there's a fix.

How do I open the battery? It's one of those unibody phones.

I trade him my limited edition red blackberry passport plus cash. Gotten so many phones off Kijiji and never had an issue so I guess I got a little careless this time.

Researching online seems like the exact same issue happened to many phones, starting to think that it's a defective batch or something. Would the original manufacturer's warranty be honoured even without the receipt etc?

Even if they did, you'd have a new phone by the time it came back from warranty

I may have to call Samsung to find out I guess. I have other phones I can use in the meantime. lol
