Noted. I think you've mentioned something about Abbotsford before (might be years back now) and we booked earlier this year for Abbotsford this weekend. Looking forward to it. F-35 coming even on static display is big plus for me. This whole air show thing is still fairly new to me. So far it's been Lethbridge, Springbank, Seattle and now Edmonton this past weekend. Still enough fighter jets left for me to see new ones I haven't seen every show. Right now, the only other one I got my eye on is Great Falls in July next year to see the Thunderbirds.Originally posted by Go4Long
Thanks man. For North American stuff check out Nellis (Vegas) in November, I usually also attend Barksdale (Shreveport, Louisiana which is about 3 hours east of Fort Worth) they get some cool stuff because it's a HUGE base...usually a B-2 comes down from Whiteman.
Canadian shows your best bet is always going to be Abbotsford, which is next weekend. They just announced that there will be F-35's on display there.

Someday we may need to activate the halo structure off Deerfoot and destroy the North East.
First pic out of the new 200-500.
500mm @ 1/80 sec handheld - the VR on this thing is hilarious.

Back to the dark side eh
Ultracrepidarian
have to admit that I missed shooting 17mm, after 2-3 years shooting 21 as widest, 17mm is very refreshing

Back in the day, I had always wanted a Fuji S5 even though I was a Canon shooter but couldn't justify it. Of course, now that I shoot both and they're ridiculously cheap, it finally clicked in that I should pick one up. I just wish I had thought about it before the dollar shit the bed haha
Since it finally stopped raining, I decided to go out and take a bunch of nothing photos around the neighborhood just to test out the dynamic range and colour.

making me regret not picking up that S3 for $100 few months ago.
picked up a Samyang 12mm f/2 for the Fuji -X, surprisingly i can get a little thin DoF wide open.Originally posted by blitz
Nice! I've always been interested in those.
Earl, what lens did you pick up?
These threads are still very inspiring, as frustrating as it is trying to nail shots as a new shooter, it is nice to be able to come here and see what practice can produce. As much as I'm loving my sl1, the focusing system is struggling with wildlife so I am very much looking forward to the camera store's 20th anniversary sale on the 27th. I also have a workshop lined up with them to learn more about photographing dogs, will post I here after I have taken it. Likely going to try to start learning more of Lightroom and photoshop this fall, start saving some of my scrap shots hopefully.
Sorry for the low res shots, uploading from my phone.
Lucked out by turning around and seeing this, soft focus but I like it

Yeah, but I'd like to try Fuji's Hyper Utility software that came with the camera but I can't find it anywhere. Then I can play around with the film profiles when shooting raw.Originally posted by taemo
