Anyone here wash their vehicle at home? Should I just use a microfibre glove and some biodegradable soap? My vehicle needs a deep clean to get all the dirt off that the wand wash won't clean.

Google detailedimage washing technique and ensure the soap water does not reach any of the nearby drainage and you should be good. Don't be surprised if a Bylaw officer comes by courtesy of your friendly neighbor Bylaw Bob.
How would you accomplish that? Basically anyone washing their car is committing an offense, but everyone does it so...Originally posted by jaylo

I actually wash mine in my garage on hot days. The soap and water never reach the street as it dries too fast.
Stupidity is a disease we all have, it's like a form of brain herpes. Outbreaks will occasionally occur.

I was assuming it was drying on the driveway.
Knock off whatever you can at the carwash, then finish off at home with a rineless wash like ONR. That way you don't risk getting a bylaw fine. And a solution like ONR minimizes the damaging effects of hard water (Calgary straight tap).
This is what I do, $2 at the wand wash to get it decent then ONR at home.Originally posted by Cooked Rice

Wait.... are we not allowed to wash on our driveway?
I usually do both cars at least once a week....
Professionally Retired
Full wash with gas pressure washer and foam cannon in the alley, followed by 2 bucket with Uber. Neighbors are all friends for the most part
No problems in 3 years.
Interesting that we are more concerned with whether we can get away with it than whether it's legal. Are we thinking the city made a bylaw for no reason, or just that we're special and it shouldn't apply to us? I tried the two bucket method on my driveway once after being assured it was ok, but still ended up with runoff. Now I just bucket wash at the coin wash when it's not busy. Haven't had a problem so far.

I wash my truck and car in the driveway regularly. Only an issue if you have asshole neighbours who will call bylaw on you (which I have had in the past.)
...
Do you guys use the Optimum Wash and Shine? Or Wash and Wax?
My neighbors have been pretty cool and most of us just wash on the driveway, no bullshit as of yet. But neighbors change, and I'm waiting for the day the bylaw officer shows up.
Wasn't there a thread here before about washing at home, and this one member posted about how he does it and blocks the water from going down into the drains, and how his neighbor keeps calling bylaw in him? They came out, saw how he was blocking the water from the drain and they left him alone? Swear I saw something about that.... anyway, if you keep the run off from going into the drains, then it's fine from what I've heard.
