I ordered the full colour display from Luna and in the advance settings you can tweak a number of things. The motor shut off has worked flawlessly so far at whatever the stock setting is. I stop pedalling and it is off almost instantaneously.

I was showing a friend my bike the other day and lifted the back tire off the ground and held throttle... Speedo topped out at right around 70km/hr in my 3rd biggest gear... I can't imagine riding using the highest pedal assist, in top gear and pedalling all out....

Got my BBSHD in from Luna, but didn't want the extra cost of shipping the battery cross border.

Do you guys have any recommendations on where to get a down tube battery? 48V or 52V?

you can compare with Biktrix http://www.biktrix.com/collections/c...nt=26535505542

but from what project240 said about the prices after fees, I'd probably just go with luna for selection and support

HA, that one from Biktrix is the same as this one on AliExpress, but with quite a bit of markup!

Generic cells in this one, but faster shipping and cheaper C$ 489.56

I might as well get it direct from China and skip the middlemen.

What did you guys use to install the lock rings? I messed up and didn't order the Luna Wrench

I used the Luna wrench, lol. IMO it would be hard to tighten the rings tight enough using something else without damaging them.

I used channel lock pliers, since that's all I had. It worked, but the ring was kinda soft and the pliers ended up distorting it so that the cover ring didn't fit. I had to fiddle with it to push down the high spots to get it to fit. Then I ordered the luna wrench and it made swapping the kit onto another bike so much easier. You can borrow mine if you'd like

I used a crank wrench from MEC that works just as well.

Awesome, thanks for the replies guys! Good to know I have some options.

Did some research and looks like this will work for both the inner and outer rings:
    https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'll give it a try on Friday when it arrives and if not I'll take you up on your offer lint, thanks!
While we're sharing, I have the USB programming cable if you guys need to borrow it.

Considering how cold it is this week, are you guy's doing anything special to keep your batteries warm when your using it?

I found that my battery was draining faster when it was mounted directly too the frame, so I finally made use of my bike frame bag and started using it. It made a huge difference in keeping the battery warm as well as overall performance.

Got the tool and it works perfectly!

My current battery is a LiPO4 which is apparently better in the cold than Lithium Ion, so I've been getting 4 days out of a charge. However it's also not a downtube battery and I mount it on a rack in a pack.

Did you guys install the gear sensor? The wire is a bit too short for my frame.

I've been reading that it's a not that great anyway. Looking for your experiences.

    Default Ebikes/Electric Bicycles

Anyone riding an eBike? Considering getting a fatbike/ebike this spring, either a Trek, Pedego, or maybe a RadBike out of Washington. Just wondering if anyone has one, or knows anyone with one. I want one with both pedal assist and with a stand alone throttle system. You can hack most of them to go faster than their stock 20mph to usually 30mph+, I saw one blast by me on a path while on holidays over Xmas, pretty crazy.

Saw a pair at moose mountain riden by an older couple. They were riding up the road at 20 km/h and then coming down the same speed as us. They were riding Trek Full Suspension bikes. I think they are basically Fuel Exs with electric assist.

It's interesting but they are pricey. Especially now with the shitty CAD.

Wow, thank you x10 whoever moved my thread into a post in this older thread I couldn't see - I found Biktrix in Saskatoon SK of all places, getting an order in now for their AWD 2 motor (front and back tire) bike. Looked and looked at so many models online, and found the best one, with a custom heavy duty frame, good components, etc, built right near my folks place.
