Still not expensive. We were just at a grocery store in Kutchan today and the only stuff more expensive than Canada was certain fruit, melons and strawberries in particular. Cheese was dirt cheap compared to Canada. Fucking dairy cartel.
Fruits has always been expensive in Japan as they rarely import and seasonal. I think it's strawberry season right now.

Unless you were blindly wondering into Kabukicho, what a bizarre take. One of the most Karen'esque suburban-sheltered travelling comments I've read on here. + reputation for not being B.Taylor.
Yeah I was blindly wandering the area around 2-3am due to jet lag. I ask the front desk if they have a gym but they didn't so I went out but he caution me to be careful so I probably had that bias drilled into me.

It's still safe to walk around but the vibe is total different between in front of the Toho Cinema (safe) where you see all the tourist shots and behind the Toho Cinema (sketch).

Like I said, I don't feel like my life in danger like if you were dropped into some neighborhoods of Manhattan.

Japan 7-11 is better than most fast food in North America.
I forget what you call them, but they were triangular rice cakes with meat stuffing inside. Not only were they crazy cheap and filling, but man were they ever good.

Onigiri. Two of those and a box of lemon water and I had myself a nice light meal.

My hotel has a 7-11 and other related stores near by, seen lots of videos that says it's pretty worth checking out. Checking in at 9pm so it might be a 7-11 dinner that night

I need to start planning which duty free purchases I make. Love me some good Japanese whiskey.

Might be late to the party, but I was able to find the Yamazaki 18 at Haneda...was only available at 1 out of 3 duty free's there though. Apparently there's also the Hibiki 21 and Hakushu 18 floating around as well but I didn't see them. 50k yen each, I saw the Yamazaki in Tokyo going for 150k yen at one spot. A mom and pop kind of shop had it for around 90k yen.
