Default Take back something you sold on Kijiji?

So I sold 8G bank of Mac Memory on Kijiji. I included a link to the Corsair site that stated what computer the memory is good for. Also in the ad I included the model number, DDR3 1333. Price was $30 for the 8G. The guys asked for the bank of memory that I took out from my laptop and I said sure take the 2GB as well.

He phones back and say the memory is not compatible with his computer. I asked what year is his iMac. He suggested he comes and get his $ back. I told him no, just put in on Kijiji and you get your $ back or more. He stated no he would not sell it on Kijiji. I had to explain to him I am not Memory Express and I am not going to let someone take some computer component home, try it and bring it back.

Some people are quite reasonable, others not so much. Argh.

Tell him to go pound sand. He can list it on Kijiji just like you did.

Well, I was more polite than that. He didn't give me a great vibe though. He was taking $ out of his wallet and asked me how much. I said $30 and he said are you sure? Not $25? Meanwhile his hson (20 something) was standing off to the side looking at me with a stone face.

Don't bother. For all you know he swapped your good one in for his defective one and is giving that back.

You don't owe him shit. You explained the situation and wrote all the compatible models. It's his job to check, not yours.

    Tell him to fck off

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

I don't know. If he knew where I lived then yea I might give him his money back (assuming he was as creepy as you said).

If not, screw him. As you said, you aren't running a business, there is no return/exchange policy.

Well he did come to the house to pick it up. He asked me "do you want them back" and I replied I have no use for them. He asked me the same questions 3 times.

Did you get a shot of the serial numbers? If you wanted to entertain a return make sure the serial numbers match.

But yea $30. whatever. I once spent $100 on a dead video card. Should have know it was too good to be true.

We buy/sell literally 100s of things a year on Kijiji.

I've taken things back the same day if it was obviously broken once they got it home (sometimes I dont get a chance to test everything).

But if someone bought the wrong item by mistake, that's never my problem. I've done the same and would never expect a refund.
