    Default Bubble tea recipes?

    Ok, need Asian help

Bubble tea at home - need recipes... Preferably ones that don't have magic mystery powders.

I've googled recipes - but its like no 2 are even close to the same - so far quick research - some are milk some are condensed milk, some are coconut milk, some are magic mystery powders...

Hell there's no even real consensus on type of teas to use (Lipton seems like good bet?)

And do I need to trek to t&t or will I find boba / tapioca somewhere more mainstream?

For a traditional Taiwanese milk tea (basically, just sugar, black tea, and milk), I believe my girlfriends family uses Assam Tea.

They sell the tapioca at tnt supermarket
If you use powder it's best to add milk or condense depending on how sweet you want it

And that special mystery thing they pour is just usually sweet sugar with water or what they call sugar syrup

Everytime I have a bubble tea from an asian place it does not taste even remotely like tea. The real fruit ones just seem to be blended mango and some lychee jellies at the bottom. I don't mind powder or real fruit. But I cant stand those pearls, gotta be jellies everytime.

I don't think many use "tea" one of my local options does... It's much better that way

Watching them being made when I can - the ranges are amazing... Some is a scoop of this scoop of that water ice... My good local one is real brewed tea, evaporated milk, still a scoop of something, ice and fruit...

Pearls are a must gellies are just wrong.

    For the tea itself,

    Tea leaves
    2 Pots
    Strainer
    Condensed milk or evaporated milk

Basically... boil tea in pot, strain it, (heres the step to make it silky, you must pour from pot to another pot like you're stretching the tea... do this a few times), put with milk. add tapicoa bubbles or whatever you like with it.

If you want it half and half with coffee, repeat above but with coffee grinds but no stretching.

    here's one online.... http://coffeetea.about.com/od/prepar...amyMilkTea.htm
