Probably worth pointing out that at 6 year old it’s impressive your laptop is still usable at all. Imo you are getting well beyond the effective life of the product.

I think we expect to see some kind of apple product announcement in the next 3 weeks, but that might be a new iPad Pro which would put computers closer to April/May timeline.

I am very surprised at how usable it still is. If it wasn't for Teams, I don't think I would have noticed any performance issues. It could use a storage upgrade - but I think its a combo of the CPU and mem that are making me want to look for something a bit newer.

2019 i5 16gb MacBook. Was using quite a bit of CPU, 150% and windows server (the graphics display) driving another 60%. So roughly 2 cores at full blast. Fans going crazy haha. Memory usage was at 1.2GB. That's on an old version of teams, and just 2 people. Couldn't imagine how that'd run on an old laptop with less memory.

If you need more than 1 external monitor, you'll have to wait. Next MacBook rumored to start production in 2H 2021, so it's looking like Sept or Oct availability. Still a bit of a wait!

I'll try to test teams on a MBA M1 later tonight. Maybe someone setup a teams meeting for some beers tonight as a test? haha

Looks like the homepod is dead and the mini will be the only size available. Will pick up a mini to try out eventually I suppose as it sounds like it works pretty well to airplay and work with sonos equipment.

So I have a Apple Watch series 1. The screen seems to have some burn in images and is barely readable outside. Anyone have a fix?? Probably time to get a new one

Probably no fix since it is OLED unless the screen was available and able to be replaced. New one is great though.

I got my wife a new iPhone 12 and she keeps getting the following error when trying to open web links from emails or whatever:

"Safari cannot open the page because your iPhone is not connected to the internet"

She has full LTE and WiFi signal, and everything else works as expected so I don't think it's a hardware issue. Other internet browsers like Chrome work as expected. The obvious stuff like rebooting the phone and clearing network settings didn't fix it - any suggestions for what else I can try?

Totally. I’m excited for the bigger “pro” version which didn’t get announced.

My wife wants a purple one but has no need for a desktop.

10,000 led’s in the mini led display with 2500 dimming zones.

Fuck I want that haha, but have no need for the rest of makes iPad Pro hardcore.

    512GB Imac with 8GB M1 2,100 to start. Spicey.

iPad Pro 12.9 Starts at 1,400 CAD. Also very very spicey.

Almost definitely picking up the apple tv though, $230 bucks for the 32GB model. Been waiting for an update on these for a while, new remote looks much better and it will be nice to get myself off the built in samsung smart tv features which are buggy AF in my living room.

Wasn't expecting the $100 bump on the 12.9 pro since the us pricing was the same, but interesting. Wonder if they could let it run macos apps eventually having the same processor and all the arm programs now.
No more leather cases/accessories I see for ipad, love the ones I have for my 10.5 pro but i wouldn't mind some more screen realestate for drawing markups and whatnot.

New imac is very aesthetically pleasing.

Apple tv, nice update on the 4k but all they did on the hd is change the remote. Why keep it so highly priced when it is so old? Was hoping for a lower priced one for basement tv to do apple fitness.

I will try one airtag though.

I have a major want for the 12.9 iPad but I’m entirely honest with myself that I have no need for an iPad Pro for casual web browsing and to watch movies when travelling (aka never). My 10.5 Air is the right device for me.

Tbh the M1 iMac is almost perfect for me the more I think about it ( home base personal computer and work RDP machine ). But 24” screen doesn’t cut it for me. Hopefully the base iMac “pro” won’t be too much overkill and I can get into one later in the year. Rumours of a 32” monitor sound great to me, pair that with a second screen and I’m good to go.

I have a hard time defining my computer needs these days.

Ill probably wait for the 12.9 to appear in the refurb store. Being more than the base MBA is a little rich especially with accessories. I want that screen and performance though. 128gb-512gb is 8gb ram and 1tb -2tb 16gb so they must have something lined up for the wwdc regarding ipad/macos. Then it would be a true surface competitor.

Yeah, a nice upgrade from 21.5 but still smol. I must stick with my 800 lbs gaming pc though so I can play games that dont even use any of the power.

Lots of new accessories for phone/watch etc. I'm going to have to change up my phone and watch look like a cool guy.

Has there been any rumours on the 16" macbooks swapping to the M1? Is that still "later this year"?

Maybe hope for wwdc for the powerful M1 macs but I wouldn’t hold my breath on it. My guess is October November at this point.

Heard a quip in the presentation as well that mmWave 5G is only available in the US.

“3.5Gbps speeds let you work wherever you need to!”*

    Hilarious.
