Applecared my crackly Airpod Pros. This will be my third set since original purchase in Jan 2020. Hopefully they've got it figured by now, $350 headphones shouldn't be a consumable item.
How do you handle them that you’re going through it like napkins? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They don't get abused at all. Never dropped (in or out of case). Used in my office or at the golf course, basically nowhere else. They don't even experience cool ambient temperatures haha. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Good news though, the process is seamless (I've never done a replacement remotely before, always just gone into the store). Talked to an Apple rep yesterday afternoon, and the tracking shows fedex will have my new ones here before lunchtime today.
I went through 3 before I got a post fixed pair. It’s been solid for a year now.
People were going through them like crazy because it took a while for Apple to have a fix in production, so the first replacements all had the bad glue.

Luckily I never had any issues with my AirPods and AirPods Pro but I did not use them much and I have since given them to my brother and wife respectively. I use the AirPods Max and I am not sure if it's a defect or what, but anytime I am using them if my phone gets a notification, they just stop playing the music. I have to physically grab the phone and hit play again. I never buy Apple Care but they are still well within the 1 year warranty so if this is a defect I need to get in touch with Apple and get them replaced or some shit.
An update to this. Seems like cinematic mode is not only limited to 1080p. But it’s also 30FPS.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It’s a neat parlour trick but it’s going to be far from my default capture mode.
Edit: just realizing Ganesh pointed that out. lol

The sooner they kill off lightning the better. What is really holding Apple back is their lack of knowledge in wireless (cellular) data capability.
Electrically, the lightning connector sucks because of the thin surface area. USB-C is already hitting 100 watts, and many solar panels might have it as an alternate to the MC4 for smaller micro-solar setups.
If 6G is 100x faster than 5G, there will be no need for copper cabling for data transfer. Just leave it for ten seconds and your 1TB Ipad (by then) will be completed backed up to a local computer.
Cocoa $12,000 per ton.
Really impressed with cinematic mode so far. Quick sample clip messing around at timbits practice.
Should add a whole new dimension to kids sports.

Jordan reviews the iPhone 13 Pro camera
Filmed a timbits practice game right on the ice with a gyro in cinematic. Really liked the results. Let the phone chose the focal points, except for maybe 2 or 3 glaring mistakes.
Make sure you chose HDR quality.

Still faster than the Calgary Flames.
Are the new iPhones still out of stock everywhere? Did all of you pre order yours?
Ipad mini looks pretty sweet.
Cocoa $12,000 per ton.
I upgraded through Telus last week. Ordered one day and got it the next. Grey 128GB version. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
14" MBP starts at $2500, was not expecting that much more than the 13", 16" $3150
Many upgrades though including mini led 120hz display.
Display is killer app for me.
That said. I honestly can’t articulate why I even need a home computer anymore so I’ll pass.
pricey fuckers too.

Notch is stupid, would've been happier with a larger top bezel instead.
The rest of the machine looks great though, will wait for reviews to see how the M1 Pro stacks up.
The 14" MBP is a replacement for the 13" 4 port MBP i5, which was dropped to $2400 a couple months ago (same 16gb/512gb spec). So the price didn't actually go up much at all. Especially since it’s a billion times faster than that i5 the 13” was stuck with. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The 13" MBP M1 at $1700 is in a really weird spot. Compared to the 14" MBP, it's a fair bit cheaper (16gb/512gb spec comes out to $2200), but compared to the MacBook Air at $1300 it's $400 overpriced because it performs exactly the same. I have both here and really regret the MBP M1 purchase.
Also for those buying, don't forget to take advantage of education pricing. They don't check for shipped orders. $200 savings on the base 14".
The notch takes up extra pixel space above where it is. Looks like there's options to have those extra pixels black, which goes back to the thicker bezel at the top resulting in no notch. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
