I'm picking up my 11 pro at the store. Doesn't say it's even been shipped to the store.
Have you gotten any emails? I got the "We'll see you tomorrow" email saying my phone is at store and ready for pickup tomorrow.

Yeah, got it an hour after I posted.

But I have a meeting, so sending the wife to pick it up. Haha

Haha that's what I was struggling with and just made the freaking call and canceled my order. Picking up the Note 10 Plus helped in terms of distracting me and I am enjoying it so far. Still setting it all up to my liking since yesterday so haven't been thinking about the 11 Pro. lol.

At 8 am tomorrow, having an iPhone XS is like having an android.

You might as well turn off iMessage and go to green bubbles.

Sweet, I can finally open my garage through CarPlay instead of reaching for my phone.

Haha. I will admit - that does feel a bit odd using this Note 10 plus. lol

There is a garage door button in CarPlay now. It pops up when you are near home. I had to reach my phone and unlock it first even with Siri with previous iOS. Closing wasn’t too bad as you didn’t need to unlock the phone for Siri to do it. It has been irritating when I got home everyday. I know it’s first world problem.

So I am assuming it’s some kind of automatic HomeKit function?

It’s HomeKit. It’s great because it pops up a few blocks from home. By the time you roll up doors wide open. No need to use the garage opener in range.

The new carplay look is great, except the main screen forces you to use Apple maps instead of google. By default it knows where you’re heading (work, home, addresses based on calendar events) so it automatically shows your eta. Also shows the route, but doesn’t do navigation prompts unless you ask it to.

Got it. New carplay is great, I just don’t have anything on HomeKit.

Can any android people tell me what the hell is up with the gmail app on these? Sometimes I'll get a notification of a new email right away and sometimes not for hours and sometimes not until I manually refresh the app. I've fiddled around with the settings for a hour and can't seem to figure it out.

Apple typically has the shippers balls in a vice, 0 chance of products arriving early even if it was physically possible.
They arrive early, the stores just aren't allowed to sell them until the specified time.

Under the Gmail notification settings, you can choose how often you see email notifications. You probably have it set such that it only notifies you for the first email until you check them, so any emails you receive after the first one (if unchecked) won't make a noise. After you've checked it, the cycle repeats and you will receive a notification for your next email. This is my preference, and it might also be the default - I am not sure as I haven't changed it in years and have literally never had a problem with the Gmail app either on Android or iOS. You can make it notify you for every single email if you want in the account settings.

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.
