Well, before the occurrence of cyber attack on my bank account, the only few measures I was aware of to keep oneself safe online were to not download attachments from unknown sources, to not click on suspicious links and to not handover data like bank account passwords to anyone. I was following all the above, however the hacker outsmarted me with https://en.finevpn.org/how-to-set-up...vpn-on-mac-os/

which one did you go, 11" or 12.9"?
only other challenge of ipadOS vs macOS is having multiple apps open. ipad is not as smooth or as friendly as regular mac or windows but not a big deal for me anyway since I would remote into a VM.

cheapest ipad pro 12.9 with magic keyboard is still over 1800$ lol
I have the smaller one as that is what I needed for my travel needs (always have it in my briefcase) and 12.9 was way too close to my MacBook Air M1. But yea...I think it was around 1600 or so all said and done so they definitely know how to gouge.

this has been bugging me for a while but anyone getting this annoying bug where when you make a call you get prompted to choose your audio output including your macOS device?

my mac is not even on the same network and Calls on Other Devices or WiFi Calling is turned off under the Phone Settings.
have to reboot the phone to fix the issue.

Looks like there's some advantages with Apple moving to a single gift card as I was able to load my Apple US account with my HomeTrust CC by sending myself a gift card.
Too bad I don't have anything to buy on the itune/app store.

Still cant link my Canadian CC on my US account though.

Does the same thing for me on occasion, just with different options.

Not quite as good as the Costco deals, but if you have optimum check your offers for a 5000 pts for every $50 in Apple GCs offer. 10% off, pretty decent deal especially if you are buying some hardware soon or have a subscription renewal coming up.

    Offer expires today

iPhone 13 Pro guess that's an auto upgrade for me seeing as I use my phone so much for video work. That cinematic mode is insane, being able to rack focus post production. Lytro introduced that to photography, but to do it with 4K video and what seemingly no edge noise is pretty impressive. It's going to open up a whole new world of iPhone cinematography.

I had to cover my face when you pulled out your phone during lunch.

Haven't looked into the apple hardware, but that Lytro camera is crazy shit. doing that with 4k video sounds extremely amazing.

Does the 13 have mmWave 5G for the Canada variants now?

Panasonic has it as well, but the 3 implementations are completely different.

Lytro (went under already) did it by just taking in all the light as well as direction of the light, creating a 3d map and able to reconstruct it digitally to focus in different areas. The resolution was terrible here.

Panasonic does it by recording a video at every focal point, then letting you choose a video frame of the focal point you want. It's leveraging the lens to do the focal point so it's a perfect image, but it's grainier due to video compression, and limited to 4K resolution.

Apple does it by recording a video with no depth of field, and mimicking blur based on (my guess) their 3D depth map from their lidar. I guess they have enough computational power to do it in full 4K Dolby Vision. The drawback is edge noise, so have to wait to see it in a regular user's hands to see how well it does it. The edge noise was terrible for portrait mode if implemented for video (still photo hides a lot of the errors) because the errors are glaringly obvious while in motion, so they must've made massive strides in this area to make it look pretty seamless in their demo.

edit - shot on iPhone 13 cinematic mode.

This is going to be huge for amateur film makers with no budget.

From the earlier reports it looks like only the 13 Pro will have the mmWave 5G in Canada
