Well I guess I will have to make-do if need be considering I am likely getting the 11" one and not the highest storage either regardless. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The iPad Pro is pretty much held back by iPad OS now that it's got the M1. So maybe there's a better case for iPad Pro after WWDC iPad OS announcements. That said, the price gap isn't that huge between the base iPad Pro and the Air 4. Comparing 256gb which is common to both, it's a $150 difference that gets you much better cameras and Face ID.
The Air 4 is pretty damn sweet, I love mine, but definitely would've went base iPad Pro if it was available when I purchased 6 months ago. It does everything iPad well.

You already know I consider you a tech guru so thank you for that. I am most likely going to go for a pro. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I want a pro. I just know I have no logical reason or need for one

Note that the $150 difference is against the base iPad Pro without the mini led screen.

I am just picking up the 128gb version of the 11" pro (wifi and cell) along with the keyboard and pencil. I bought it yesterday for in-store pickup this afternoon. I never run out of space and use cloud storage anyway so I don't tend to go for larger storage sizes. Going to be calling Rogers today to enquire about the data plans for the iPads.

Scroll down. $10 for 4gb, each additional gb costs $10. Runs off the Rogers network.

Great deal but You need to have an existing talk/txt/data plan with Fido to get it. Or at least you did about 1.5 years ago when I last inquired about it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
No, you can definitely have it standalone. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Wouldn’t it likely be cheaper to piggy back your regular cellular plan?
With Telus it’s like a $5 or $10 adder to use my “unlimited” plan

When did you sign up? Something must have changed since then because i'm certain they didn't let me do it 1.5 years ago (I walked into a Fido store and asked), and i also just asked live chat. I'd love to get on this actually for my car tablet but they just won't let me.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Oh my bad then. I walked into a store pre pandemic so that's gotta be at least 1.5 years ago. Maybe longer.
Checking my account, mine's actually $15/month.

I think best bet then is to contact Rogers and see what they say how much it will be to add a tablet SIM on top of my current plan. So just called TELUS and they won't give me a stand alone tablet plan if I don't have a phone line with them even though I do have some home services with them. Guess Rogers is going to be the only choice but that seems to be iffy as well since I have that special promotional plan for both my lines that was posted in the other thread and they are telling me my only option if I want to keep my phone plan is to take $10 per month for 100MB data which is obviously shit. And if I change my plan, then my each line goes to $80/month from $36/month and THEN for $10, I can share that data with the iPad.
Feckin' ridiculous.

I mean. Sharing data with your phone also works and costs literally nothing.
That’s what I do in a pinch (like this afternoon when I had to get my boss some numbers from the side of the road lol ).

Yea I suppose..the other option would be to just return the cellular iPad and go for the wifi one and save $200 and use hot spot in a pinch.
EDIT: Just noticed Koodo has a stand alone plan $15 for 4GB data. How is their reception? Good to with that?

Koodo uses Telus network, so it should be pretty stable. If they allow that standalone that's a pretty sweet deal IMO since you can't add it on your Rogers line. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I feel like 4GB of data isn’t going to be anywhere near enough for an iPad that gets used often. My iPad RIPS through data way faster than my phone does just casually using it.

I've got 2 iPads on their own dataplan and have yet to exceed the quota. But I lock out videos on LTE.
